Ryan - 6 - ok not much to do had no chance with goal
Veltman - 7 - did well..... more defensive and slower than Lamptey but effective and safe
March - 8 - really good game. confidence up now let's hope it stays there.
White - 6 - ok but makes mistakes and right now here's not justifying his hype
Webster - 7 - good usually the one with a ricket in him but not today.
Dunk 7.5. - good dependable safe.
Bissouma - 8.5 think he just sneaks MOM.... he is such a HUGE upgrade on Stephens and think there's more to come.
Gross - 7 - good games dependable just speed as always lets him down
Maupay - 5 - one godo pass early on to put Connolly through but he seems to have no confidence at all. Cannot understand why they gave him the penalty. I honestly wasn't sure if he was injured or sulking when wanting to go off.
Wellbeck - 8.25 - always a threat... upgrade on anything else we got pity he couldn't score.
Connolly - 6.5 - really good first half but faded in the second perhaps (or was that Potter?) - just don't think he can shoot for toffee and worry he may be another Jakey
Trossard - 6 - meh

Potter - 7 - it would have been 9 until he took off Connolly because until the penalty we never threatened again. Until then he'd got the tactics spot on.

Very happy with today. We deserved the point.

Very close to my reading of the game. I might bump Welbeck & Connolly up by a point or half a point otherwise spot on.

Dunk had his best game of the season and the back five were all excellent. Gross & Bissouma superb too in midfield.

Potter got his team selection spot on a it was a deserved point.

Ryan 6 - not much to do, good distribution

Veltman 7 - of course he doesnt bring what Lamptey does in attack but was very solid
White 8 - great performance again
Dunk 7 - calm and steady and won most duels
Webster 7 - after a few wonky games he was great today
March 9 - excellent through balls, dribbles, some good crosses, some not so good, but overall my man of the match (I think)

Gross 7 - not really his kind of game but did a good job anyway
Bissouma 9 - well, its him or March for the MoM award. From being the worst player on the pitch in two January games to being this consistent, mature defensive midfielder (arguably top three in the league), fantastic development.

Maupay 7 - great work effort, hold up play and link play, too bad about the penalty and the injury
Connolly 7 - always running, always fighting, just a bit unpolished but it will come
Welbeck 7 - hiding a bit in first half and still rusty in some situations but very clearly a clever and well-rounded player

Trossard 5 - not today
Lallana n/a
Ali J n/a but looked hungry

As good as all the back line was, I'll not argue with 8's across the board, I do think Veltman deserves a nod of appreciation.

He played like he's some kind of knock out Champions League defender who'd spent the best part of 20 years being schooled in total football.

Lucky to have him.

Great call. The fact we only slightly missed Lamptey speaks volumes for Veltman

Ryan 6.5 - will be happy with that - even the goal he was a little bit hindered by White's attempted block
White 8 - Assured performance
Dunk 8 - Best performance of the season for him. Coming good at hte right time
Webster 8 - Bring s the ball out nicely and 0 ricketts.. progress.
Veltman 8 - cultured, (said it before, but....) Hunemeier x 10
March 8 - That performance proved everything we have been saying thinking all season, the lad's on his way. Must be in contention for England squad surely>
Gross 8 - Underrated - total quality in everything he does.
Bissouma 8 - Has transformwed into a holding mid of immense presence. In theory he should have been overrun today, but dealt with (almost) everything.
Connolly 8 - Good to see him so pissed off at being subbed, Potter can point to the result and say "I was right", but Connolly was a menace today. Lots more to come from the lad.
Welbeck 8 - Penalty? probably not. But had the presence of mind to collapse in a heap when he knew a foul had been committed. All round strong performance today
Maupay 6 - hmm. hard luck for the penalty.. could have been a beauty, but if you miss it, well, I'm afraid you are a ****. If he really has tweaked his hamstring and not his ego, he will be missed. Needs an arm around the shoulder IMO.

Trossard 5.5 - didn't have any impact
Lallana - hope he's not injured, didn't see too much in the collison that caused him to go off. I may be being unfair, but he seems to feel he needs to be wrapped in cotton wool a bit. Hopefully this is a short-term thing.
AJ - 6- lPossibly over marked cos the missed penalty was shat! But I love the little fella. So he gets a 6

Potter 9 - Got this one bang on. Thought he'd gone loopy when I saw Welbz/Maupay/Connolly. but fair play to him.

More or less how I saw it. However, with 6 as a start point to "average" I would down tick Maupay to a 5 (wasn't on for long and missed a pen when he was) and Trossard to a 5 (an off day for a player who is consistent in his inconsistency) and up Connolly to an 8 (yes his miss was nearly as bad as Maupay's but he was a constant threat to Liverpool and very hard done by to be subbed - they struggled to live with him in the first half).

Wellbeck didn't go down though did he, which could have cost us the pen decision imho...

Yeah he did.

Not a Trezuguet Shot in the back, launch yourself in the air and roll around in agony, dive.
Or even a Grealish agonised scream and flop to the floor dive.

Just a good old fashioned, "well you ain't gonna give it and less i make a point of it" professional collapse.

Wouldn't have been referred without it IMO.

I’m really surprised by your White grade. His anticipation of danger and tackling are immense. The yellow card for the beautifully timed tackle was just an insult. Gets better and better. He also nearly blocked their goal and nobody else saw the danger and reacted so quickly. I would give him an 8 today.

Ryan 6 - Bet he was surprised by how little he had to do,
White 8- Fantastic in the main.
Dunk 8 - Welcome back Lewis where have you been?
Webster 7.5 - Good solid performance too
Veltman 8 - Looks a class act wherever he plays
March 8 - His confidence and therefore his performance levels are increasing game by game.
Gross 7- I still prefer Alzate personally but good pen and did very little wrong.
Bissouma 9 = Wow. He gets better and better starting to look a class act. Big clubs will be watching...
Connolly 7 - Missed a big chance and he cannot do that at this level but his movement troubled Liverpool and with some luck could've scored a brace.
Welbeck 7 - Gives us guile and presence and not a little knowhow.
Maupay 6 - Great pass for Connolly, missed the pen doesn't look himself but nowhere near the liability that some idiots on here are suggesting.

Trossard 6 - Anonymous. Sometimes very frustrating.
Lallana - n/a
AJ - n/a

Potter 8 tactically surprised Klopp 1st half and has us playing some very good football

Absolutely this. He's an incredibly intelligent defender - excellent performance.

Thought Connolly was fantastic in the first half and it's such a shame that Maupay went off because the two of them link up so well with one another.
