Sanchez 7
Veltman 7 Good job marking one of best wide players
Duffy 7 In his element defending a lead
Dunk 7 Good game. None of these 3 replaced Webster forward runs
Cucurella 8This is what we have been missing for a long time
March 6 Did ok but always want more from him going forward. I would have kept him on to help mark Barns in last 20mins
Lalana 6 Best game of season but how didnt he put that one on target
Trossler 9 So skillful and positive
Welbeck 7 Best game of season
Maupay 6 ok but just felt made wrong decision in area a couple of times.

Its the result that counts but how many out there like me moaned about Burn coming on so meant we were going all out defensive with half hour to go

Maupay, Lallana and March all 6s - did you watch the same match as me?

Maupay was chasing down and fully committed all day and he buried his pen, Lallana was bossing midfield in the first half and put Maddison in the shade, while March was tireless and his sprint won the free kick from which we scored the winning goal.

Neither here nor there
It's quite hard giving points as I'd doubt my ability to concentrate on 11 individual perfomances and evaluate them objectively.

But I will say I was hugely impressed with Cucurella today on his home debut and by Trossard's industry and confidence. Perhaps the best I've seen him play for 90 minutes.

Honourable mention for Lallana who I thought was superb for long spells.

Agreed. Lallana tired as the game went on but was outstanding in the first half particularly. He and Trossard totally controlled the game from about the 10th minute till the 60th minute.

I hate to be negative on such a happy day but Mwepu didn’t look right at all, did he?

Terrific performance. Breathless game

Sanchez - 7 - Oddly, not loads to do. Played one terrific pass

Veltman - 7 - Dealt manfully with the terrific oppo wide players
Dunk - 8 - Not flawless, but some truly class touches and some old school dunky blocks
Duffy - 9 - Alright, passed a couple into the stands, but won headers he had no right to win. He looks a £50m defender to me. No way we win that game without him

March - 8 - prodigious work rate, deceptive pace, incredible decision making, versatility. Has there ever been more "managers player"?
Bissouma - 6 - Obviously injured for most of the time he was on. Odd
Lallana - 7 - Champions League standard ball control. Sunday league standard finishing. An enigma. On the upside, his fitness looks great
Cucurella - 9 - What a home debut. Pace, energy, skill. What an outlet. We look a totally different team with natural width and pace.

Maupay - 8 - Ceaseless work rate. Always looking to get in behind, Lovely pen. Hold up play still needs work
Trossard - 9 - MOM - Brilliant close footwork and awareness. No longer overplaying. Constantly looking for his forward partners
Welbeck - 8 - What a header. Pace is noticeably down on last season, but there's a lot of know how in the tank. Bit of movement today showed that

Mwepu - 3 - Alarmingly bad. But look, Biss had a shocker or 2 right at the start, plenty of others have needed a while to play themselves in from abroad. But that could have cost us today
Burn - 7 - I forgot how good he was.
Moder - 6 - Bought on, I think, as further ballast to deal with corners and defensive situations. No chance to shine really

Cucurella had a great first half, less so second.

If only we had a five years younger version of Lallana, sadly he really can't do more than 60 minutes these days.

Trossard as good as I have seen from him.

Dunk and Duffy as magnificent as ever chucking their bodies into the way in those last 20 minutes.

Oh and Sanchez had very little to do, can't be blamed for their very well worked goal by Ratboy and tipped a real chance over the bar at the end.

I'm sure given our coaching staff Mwepu will improve. Just not in these sorts of games please?

Will be interesting to see if he gets the nod, if Yves Bissouma has to miss games. We're not short of options

Given the next league game is Monday I feel he should get the full 90 against Swansea. It could just be rustiness. He seemed miles off the pace

Sanchez 7 -- a calm presence, excellent distribution, a couple of good saves
Veltman 7 -- did well after the early booking, especially as he was up against the dangerous Harvey Barnes
Duffy 6.5 -- some poor passing in there, but proper Duffy backs-to-the-wall defending
Dunk 7 -- solid, calm and classy
Cucurella 9 -- a cracking home debut, he's going to be a cult hero
Bissouma 7 -- some great interceptions, hopefully staying on for c80 minutes hasn't aggravated his injury
Lallana 7 -- some great pressing and blocks amongst the inventiveness
March 6 -- solid stuff
Welbeck 7 -- a lovely run for the goal, and plenty of good touches and hard work, was tiring just before he came off, as they exploited the space down our left flank
Trossard 9 MotM -- a box of tricks, loves that free role, they couldn't handle him. A pre-assist for the first, and a great delivery for the second.
Maupay 6.5 -- calm penalty, some good strength and hold-up play, great work rate as ever.

Subs:
Mwepu 5 -- one great cross, but too many mistakes in there
Burn 6 -- a good addition that brought about a change of formation, and quelled their threat down the right
Moder 6 -- solid

That was one of our best performances in the PL. Fantastic work from Potter, who pretty much got everything right. Special mention for the linesman: three decisions that impacted the result.

Agree with all except Maupay - I’d go with an 8 - thought he was immense today tbh…

I agree with scores on the doors but thought Welbeck looked well up to speed and commented on it during the game. I add his defensive work today showed his experience. He was almost a 9. Sod it make him a 9

He really was, looks very confident ATM and that showed in the penalty.
