Fiveways
Sanchez 6 -- calm on the ball and a couple of claims, beyond that not much to do apart from pick the ball out of the net and get stood on by Azpilecueta
Veltman 6 -- experienced, solid
Webster 9.5 MotM -- outstanding, a bullet header, several rampaging runs, some great long passes, brilliant tackles, covering. Half a point off for the odd misplaced pass
Burn 9 -- just a brilliant run of form
Cucurella 9 -- enjoy him while he lasts
Gross 7 -- clever performance, passing radar definitely on
Alzate 8 -- went quiet for a bit, but dictated play, opponents find it so difficult to read him, looked back to his pomp
Mac Allister 9 -- just a brilliant run of form, owned Kante et al
Lamptey 7 -- a sheer delight to watch. Can miffy6 provide a gif of that run where he seemed to disappear with the ball, midway in the centre of our half, in the second half
Moder 6 -- stunning engine and workrate, disruptive, interesting false nine position, but too many misplaced passes
Welbeck 7 -- caused them plenty of problems

Maupay 6 -- a bit frustrating on two occasions
Trossard 6.5 -- inventive, didn't quite make it happen
March 7 -- did what he needed to do

That was a stunning performance. Great to hear The Amex cranking up the volume too.
Potter 10 -- really clever formation, decisive substitutions, bet he's got Tuchel moaning again

I'd like to think that if I was somehow subbed on to the pitch for Brighton that I could put in a similar performance to Maupay, so I'll take the 6/10 thanks :)

To be honest I just started laughing at the way the ball kept ricocheting off him, as he tripped over the ball, as he played a 1-2 with the ref, as he let the perfect cross sail past him. One of those nights to forget for our Neal!

Sanchez - 7 - A couple of good claims. I've not seen the goal again, but he looked to be going the wrong way when it was struck. Possibly unsighted
Veltman - 8 - Resolute, capable and won his battle
Cucurella - 9 - All action performance. Quality player
Webster - 9 - MOM - Magnificent. Looks fit and benefiting from a run in the team. Impeccable tackling and a barnstorming run. International honours must follow performances like this
Burn - 9 - What a tussle with one of the best and most physical strikers in the world. His anticipation and ability to get his leg in front of Lukaku stopped Chelsea getting up the pitch. Brilliant
Alzate - 8 - Brilliant return. His ability to pass his way out of tight spaces is as good as anyone we have. 90 mins will have done him good
MacAllister - 9 - Owned the deep lying playmaker role against exulted opponents in that position. Loves a tackle and ticked it over
Gross - 7 - Own up who wrongly thought Pascal was done. Nope. Excellent delivery and clever passing. We'll be seeing plenty more of Gross
Lamptey - 8 - Terrified them, final ball didn't quite come off today. I like him in this position
Moder - 7 - Personally I don't think he has the goalscoring prowess to be in such a central advanced position. By no means bad tonight, but not one of our top performers
Welbeck - 6 - Slightly disappointing finishing and forward play, in the context of a brilliant team performance. I think he offers more coming from the bench

March - 6 - Delayed his delivery a little much
Maupay - 6 - Stropped off at one of our players when he should have been facing the goal. Don't think he liked being dropped
Trossard - 6 - Unable to shine

Sanchez - 6 - clearly at fault for the goal, awful positioning. First half looked like it would be one of those performances from him again. Much better second half, not much to do but controlled his area.

Lamptey - 9 - playing more advanced than usual, pace is unbelievable. Wish we could see him for 90 minutes
Veltman - 8 - weakest of the defenders tonight, but hardly put a foot wrong - which ultimately shows how good we was defensively
Webster - 9.5 - outstanding, would have loved him for him to score that second when he ran all the way from the half way line
Burn - 9 - has he emptied his pockets of Lukaku yet?
Cucurella - 8.5 - great going forward, great defensively. Really wish he wasn’t so one footed though, had a couple of opportunities to swing a cross in with his right foot but opted for a pass

Alzate - 8 - played great in the holding role, although started to get over run towards the end of the game as was clearly tired. One of his best performances to date for us
Gross - 6.5 - better performance than against Palace, few decent passes here and there
MacAllister - 8 - seems undroppable at the moment (meaning he'll be on the bench on Sunday) - seems to have found another level recently
Moder - 7 - good all round performance, but not as good as recent games

Welbeck - 6 - looked decent at holding the ball up and dragging the Chelsea defenders out wide. Maybe could have done better in first half when missing the volley. Right decision to substitute him when we did

Trossard - 7 - looked lively, made good runs
Maupay - 4 - being generous here, looked like he was either pissed or won a competition to get 30 mins Premier League experience
March - 7 - same as Trossard, seems a good impact player to come off the bench and stretch the opposition, but alas Cucurella, needs to use his right foot

Sanchez 6.5 Unlucky with goal. Replays suggest a tiny deflection and it bounced just in front. Vey calm throughout, collected several corners/crosses and distribution was ok.
Veltman 8 Mr reliable. Wherever he plays he looks to have plenty of time. Great signing.
Webster 9.5 MotM great goal and that run!! Some good interceptions. Another captain!!
Burn 8.5 Like Veltman wherever he plays, he always is up for it. Some great tackles, passes last night.
Cucurella 9 Fantastic engine to press high up and still get back. Good crosses, tackles and great skill on the ball.
Gross 7 One of his best
Alzate 8 Looked very good and comfortable.
Mac Allister 8.5 Becoming a must start player. Very good performance
Lamptey 8.5 He scares defenders and still defends well. I would just like to see him get a few more crosses in. Especially low across the box. (Assuming someone can keep up with him and get in the box :))
Moder Another great signing. Great engine if he improved his finishing, perhaps he would have a go more often.
Welbeck 7 Worked hard and on another night would have scored a couple.

Maupay 6 Missed out on a few chances but was just slightly out of position. Still love him !
Trossard 7 Great skill and created a lot.
March 7 What a great wing back to have on the bench.

Great game and fantastic to compete with likes of Chelsea. Credit to Potter. Would have been easy to try and settle for a point but were always looking for a winner.

Sanchez 7 Surprising not much to do. Horrendous pass to Mac when he had a forward behind him
Veltman 8 Defended so well on his side.
Webster 9 Outstanding
Burn 8 Very good. In his element playing in middle and man marking a big bloke
Lampty 8 Great to watch but prefer him at FB when he can run from deep
Curcurella 7 Another great to watch. When we were under pressure near end all coming down right and thought he gave too much room to wide player
Alzate 8 Very good. Poor as a FB and WB so he was able to show how good he can be in a central role
Gross 7 Didnt really notice him but must take credit for Mount etc not getting in game
Mac 7 As Gross
Moder 7 Very poor miss in first 5 mins but does get in good positions. Some poor passes late in game

Welbeck 6 Got in good positions but should have put 2/3 on target
Mach Dont usually mention subs but so disappointing in attack. Several times on one to one with Alonso who was on a booking and never attempted to go pass him .

I watched on TV and Cucurella was everywhere so don't see him being behind Veltman .

Cucurella was MOTM for me covered most of the pitch getting in tackles and getting forward. Unfortunately Welbeck didn't see him on a couple of opportunities when he could have been through.

Disappointing performances from Welbeck, Trossard and Maupay in the context of the rest of the team. Not sure what to say about Sanchez as I would have hoped he would have saved that shot but its bottom corner tight to the post.

Lovely to see Alzate on that kind of form.

Sanchez 6. Only a very good keeper would have got near the goal - however he IS a very good keeper, so will have been disappointed with it (even allowing for the swerve).
Veltman 8. So dependable. Terrific player to be able to call on, on any defensive role.
Webster 10 MotM. Astonishing all round CB performance. Like Beckenbauer in his pomp!
Burn 8. Exceeding every expectation. Credit to him.
Cucurella 9. Spectacular, in both sides of the role. Incredible energy levels.
Gross 7. Tidy
Alzate 8. So much talent. So much confidence. Really pleased for him.
Mac Allister 8. Has developed in the space of a month, from an attaching midfielder of huge potential, to a proper CM of almost unlimited scope. What a player he might become.
Lamptey 8. He enjoyed this, and so did we. Such enthusiasm, is brilliant. Even when not at his best, he still impacts the game, as the opponents have to worry about his pace constantly.
Moder 8. Excellent addition. So very mature, given his age and short time at this level.
Welbeck 7. Missed a few opportunities, but kept the ack line busy and created space for the others to enjoy.

Maupay 5. Not his night.
Trossard 7. Looked sharp and inventive.
March 7. Great option to bring on. Amazing physical transformation, too. He brushed off Rudiger!

Glad someone else thought Moder deserved an 8. Very little else I would disagree with on this thread.
He is a phenomenal presser and his short range passing in tight spaces is generally excellent. I think he will add goals to his game, considering last night was his 20th league game, I think he is making rapid progress.
