no poll, but is the first season for a long time where there are NO obvious candidates for player of the season at this stage?

in the last few years, i ALWAYS had an idea of who i would vote for at this point in the season. and all the players i picked usually came in the top three. but this year, i genuinely have NO idea who to vote for. nobody has stood out as an outstanding player thus far

it makes it VERY interesting for the remainder of the season - for example, if sullivan can keep up his recent form, he could be in with a decent chance of winning it. same with a new signing - say jarrett comes in, has 8/10 ratings for the remainder of the season, he could easily win it

its WIDE open - which really shows how POOR we have been this year. so who do YOU think is going to pick up the COVERTED gong?

If Sullivan manages to keep these performances up, and keep the shirt ahead of Michel, then the player of the season is his for sure.

Probably Forster - but you're right in that no one has particularly stood out so far. Elphick has been a shadow of the player he was last year for large parts of this season.

Actually I would pick Forster as he has scored a fair few goals and Sullivan will get loads of chances to win this if he keeps his current form.

Thing with Sullivan is - he has been very good, but I can't help feeling that if he wasn't a youth product putting in these performances people would say he was doing well but not exactly sensational. I'm not taking anything away from him, after being written off he has shown remarkable confidence to step into the team at such a young age, but I think suggesting he is player of the season is a little biased because he is 'one of our own'.

Forster was good for the first 3 games and has been good for the past 3 games. If he wins player of the season there's something f***ing wrong. Even Hawkins has been more consistent. :nono:
