I seriously think Revell is our most overrated player. Christ, all he does is run. If I was three stone lighter I could do that too. Oh, and as for Robinson, the word tart springs to mind.

Robinson is a tart but on his day he is very very good. Revell is like a better Gary Hart, has chipped in with some decent goals this season.

Anyhoo, it's DEAN HAMMOND for me.

Joel Lynch is playing very well at present but had a very sticky three months in the middle of the season (understandably as he is a youngster) he was prone to dithering and over-elaboration.

Nick Ward, incidentally, isn't so much prone to giving the ball away as losing it. Too lightweight for me.

For me, there's not much between Hart and Revell NOW. They are both slow and lacking in skill. The difference is that, a couple of years ago, Gary Hart was a fantastic player and had been for many years. Revell will never be that.

Probably easier to state who ISN'T player of the season which rules out any of our forwards who have consistently failed to perform their role and score goals, all our midfielders who have consistently failed to provide the chances for the forwards to score goals or score any themselves which leaves defenders & goalkeepers. No regular goalkeeper this season so it has to be a defender. Mayo has been crap, El Abd tries hard and puts in some good tackles but is inept as a full back, has no pace and his distribution is woeful. Of those defenders left who have played a significant proportion of games that leaves a choice between Butters & Lynch. Butters just shades it for me due to his consistency. Lynch had a spell where his form dipped but Guy has been steady all season.

Revell for me. He may not be our most talented player but he works his knackers off every week and has chipped in with some important goals and assists.

It's called workrate , next to skill & vision it's probably the most important attribute a player can have. Still as someone who rates Ward your knowledge of football is obviously a bit limited.

Only one player worth player of the season for me & thats Hammond, someone I didn't rate last seaon who with his workrate & determination has been invaluable.
