Bolton's Khalilou Fadiga is reported to be the player who has collapsed ahead of Wanderers' game against Spurs. That game, due to kick off at 2000, seems sure to be delayed.

2001: The game at Bolton has kicked off, with Giannakopoulos taking the place of Fadiga. No more details are available on Senegal international Fadiga.

Bolton announce: "Fadiga has suffered an injury and manager Sam Allardyce will talk about it after the match." That would appear to reassure supporters that the problem is nothing to do with the heart surgery the player had in May

Bolton midfielder Khalilou Fadiga did not take the field for the Carling Cup tie against Tottenham after sustaining an injury in the warm-up.
Fadiga was replaced in the Bolton side by Stelios Giannakopoulos.

The Senegalese international signed for Bolton after an 18-month absence from football, having had surgery in May to treat an irregular heart-beat.

"Fadiga has suffered an injury and manager Sam Allardyce will talk about it after the match," a spokesman said.

Fadiga's heart problem forced Italian side Inter Milan to terminate his contract in the summer.

He left the Italian club without a single first-team start to his name after joining them from French side Auxerre at the beginning of the 2003-04 season.

The 29-year-old subsequently joined Bolton and made his debut as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace earlier this month.

Fadiga played a major role when Senegal reached the quarter-finals at the 2002 World Cup finals.

He has also had spells with Paris St Germain in France and Liege and Club Bruges in Belgium.

Hope he is ok. Bit worrying that no details have been given. Normally if a player injures themself in the warm up someone would say he pulled a muscle etc.
Sam Allardyce will talk about it after the match implies that it could be a bit more serious.

Thankfully he only fainted. Due to his history of heart problems, he was sent to hospital as a precaution.
