The pitch is looking greener than expected at this time of year.

Unfortunately the rain has not filtered into the Falmer aquifer.

For football fans this will mean we cannot promise to water down all alcoholic beverages sold in the South Downs area until October.

I always thought the pitch was not as good last season as it could have been, this was because it did not rain after the seeds were sown. Rainwater as opposed to mains water makes a huge difference to the growing process, so with the amount of rain this time it should be better. The sprinklers must have been mains supplied due to the lack of rain when the stadium was being built.

I'm pretty sure in the plans were some huge water storage tanks behind the north stand for rain water capture so we could water the pitch without using mains. maybe someone who has done a stadium tour can confirm?
