Can we take a reality test please. The Prime Minister and Cabinet are running the country, trying to keep us all as safe as possible in impossible circumstances.

Is it not right that they use any mechanism at their disposal to stay doing that job properly. Unless of course you vote Labour when it becomes another opportunity to undermine the situation.

Don't make assumptions. People on Nsc vote Tory, Green, Lib Dem and Labour.
I am a Centrist who has voted for three of the four mentioned at some time in the past. I do not think the PM and Cabinet are trying to keep us as safe as possible.

It's strange how pointing out a few factual details that don't quite fit with yet another social media pile on is often viewed as me believing "they can't do any wrong'.

This fiasco has very little to do with ‘facts’ and far more to do with exhibiting leadership, an ability to read the room and sound political judgement. After 18 months of restrictions and curtailment of personal freedoms that seem to apply to all but the governing elite when it suits them, it is right that they get hounded on this.

The original decision was utterly tone deaf and the u turn is inept, weak and could have been avoided if anyone at the top of government had a clue what is going on right now.

They have reversed that decision. I am not sure how that works as Boris had full,blown COVID and was hospitalised. So why isolate again, unless he is being socially responsible so he doesn’t give it to his hundreds of kids.

Kind of my thoughts…….he’s (statistically at least) at almost no risk of getting seriously ill, doesn’t use public transport for his commute and I suspect everyone he’s working with has been double jabbed, so crack on.

For example, I worry about Covid sometimes, but I actually worry a lot more if my children are being driven around by their friends - because statistically I think car driving for those under 23 is much more likely to be a danger to them than Covid. What's the "as safe as possible" answer to that?

At Tesco, getting pinged is a brilliant excuse to have a few days off work on full pay for the usual suspects. One guy in the branch where I work is now on his 7th stint of self isolation which is pretty impressive considering he works in the bakery and only comes into contact with 2 or 3 other people a day. All things considered, the PM's dedication to duty could therefore be seen as admirable

Yep, agreed. I thought they were going to change the isolation requirements for the double-jabbed anyway. Isolation after getting pinged by the app isn’t the ‘law’ though - it’s only advisory. The law only applies if you’re directly contacted by T&T…….

My opinion is that is your responsibility. As your children grow up, you teach them to make informed decisions, like how to cross a road safely. That morphs into using roads responsibly, which includes getting into cars with qualified drivers, or learning how to drive themselves, safely.

Even for this inept government that was a impressively quick U-turn. How can they get things so wrong? They’ll have to rethink the relaxation of all rules in 3 weeks time when we’ve got 75,000 cases a day and the NHS is grinding to a halt.

This keeps happening, but they don't think until the public or the media kick up a fuss, then the penny drops and they u turn.
