Just my veiw, however would suspect (only if the management is tough enough ?) both are in danger of losing their test place. Pietersen appears to be interested in other matters, maybe IPL money or being a member of the West London 'Chelsea set' . As for Prior a far better keeper yet his batting is sloppy to often and England cannot afford that. I do believe he could well lose his place to this player.

Averages, can count for little. It,s batting when batting is needed i would like to see. 14 of 25 balls looks a good scoring rate, and it is in TEST cricket, but in Englands position today i would rather he was like Bell 35 of 86 at least your are causing them problems.

wasn't Matty caught hooking today ? possibly not the best choice of shot when adhesion was more important,?

It's not very likely that Kieswetter would go from the 'A' tour straight to the senior side in the space of a couple of days.

This is a ridiculous thread! Prior is England's best wk-batsman and he has proved that in recent season's. It seems that some players can go on forever through poor form and never be criticised or dropped (Cook, Broad etc), and others get dropped or come under pressure with one poor performance (Onions, Prior etc).

Pick Kieswetter and you might as well turn England into the Saffer's B team. Anyway Kieswetter plays for Somerset and runs are ridiculously easy at Taunton.

I think you're right about Prior. Too often he gives his wicket away too easily and he is still unconvincing in limited overs cricket.

Bedwetter is a crap keeper, may be good bat at Taunton against CC bowlers or in 20/20 but test cricket is a different ball game

The commentary team were defending Prior, along with the other tail-enders, saying that he can't help himself going for it because that's his style, and because the bowlers were getting the ball to swing it was better for him to do what he does best and either get some runs or get out (as he did) trying to add to England's paltry score.

KP needs to be dropped IMO

I think KP needs some TLC as he is a world class batsman when on form and is probably struggling with not being the captain and the expectation heaped on him.

pietersons batting and all round game have gone down hill since moores left, which is quite ironic ,wouldnt hurt to drop him and make him realise we do have other quality batsmen waiting thier chance..... who those batsmen are though ile leave to the pros

Pietersen was out of the game for 4-5 months with his achilles operation. It was always going to be difficult for KP to score runs against one of the best test teams in the world at the moment. After all, you would not chuck a footballer straight in at the deep end after a similar length of time out injured and expect them to hit top form immediately.
