Picking up after your dog

As a non-dog person it's always a delight to see owners bending down to pick up a fresh lump of steaming wet dog crap with no more than a plastic bag. My question to dog owners is, is it made easier to do by the fact that the dog is 'part of the family' in the same way that parents (in theory) don't mind coming into contact with their own child's poo-filled nappy?

Tank scoops the poop from the garden...............whilst muttering hate and death wishes upon the poor animals :lolol: so in a word no!!! I on the other hand would prefer a dirty nappy to a steaming hot dump freshly laid by one of my hounds!

Why would anybody want to own a slobberry shit factory on four legs in the first place? What purpose do they serve apart from leaving piles of crap everywhere? That's OK if you're a Croydon resident looking to raise the tone of the neighbourhood but for the rest of the world? Dogs-what a waste of oxygen!

 no they are not! I've always had dogs and we got ours as added house protection and for when Im here on my own! Hes got a fierce old bark on him and everyone round here is shit scared of him cos hes big and loud (but hes a real softy really!) Hes done his job and kept the burglars at bay! So a bit of pooper scooping is worth it!

I know he is probably hairy with four legs by the way!!

:lolol:

A Weimaraner. Hes an absolute fruit cake although hes knocking on a bit now (11 in the summer). Great with the kids but would have a go if needed and likes to pick fights with anything bigger than him! And if you saw the size of his dumps you'd understand why Tank turns the air blue!

(and we have a springer spaniel but shes a lady just like myself!)

Springers are good dogs too, take a lot of walking, you just cant wera them out!!

Gun dogs imo are the best of all breeds!

Aww! They aren't.

We have three dogs. Mr Starry refuses to pick up poop so it's all down to me, but I'd rather change the babies nappy than pick poop.

And our dogs always seem to save it until we are out for a walk and poop on the pavement or park so I have to pick it up and carry it either home or to the nearest bin, if they did it in the garden it would just involve a few short steps to the bin.

I use the 'nappy sacks' but also pad it out with a couple of sheets of kitchen roll to disguise the feeling.

On a plus side - they're great for warming your hands in the winter.

:lolol: we have a proper dog poo bin just outside out back gate on the bridle way! we make our 15 year old go and put it in there........well it is part of her job description :lolol:

My big dog likes to poo just near the washing line so i have to dodge it when Im hanging it out! He does it on purpose though, if I shut him out of the house he hates it, so out of spite he lays one just for me!
