Anyone else find darts boring while Taylor is still there? Think the sport would benefit from Taylor retiring (awaits flaming). I'd start watching again if I thought someone else had a decent chance of winning.

By the way this is no dig at Taylor, he clearly is the greatest darts player in the history of the game and fair play to him dominating the sport, he can only beat what's in front of him.

WSU, just below the seagull.
I'm a huge fan of Taylor. He has taken the game to a completely different level, it's up to all these other players to match his dedication to get where he is. Thing is, when it looks like someone is getting close to him, he just ups the ante even more.

Barney, Wade have tried, ok, they have beaten him in majors, but it is because of those losses that he comes back better than ever.

Darting genius.

i know what u mean, its a similar way formula suffered through the dominance of Michael Schumacher. Its nice to watch someone that good at the top of their game but it does take away a little bit of excitement.

I get the Schumacher comparison up to a point, but - for me - seeing, say, Wade vs Barney go the distance in a final does not compare to Taylor hitting two 9-darts finishes and battering his opponent.

Also, I'd buy the "boring Taylor" line a bit more if the guy was, say, 30 but there's something fascinating about a guy pushing 50 beating everyone young and old. It gives everyone 40plus hope for the future!

Funny enough,he needed them 2 9 dart finishes and another 10 dart finish to just beat Wade.ANY other time and Wade would have won that!.
