Come on Gus, bring in Stanty for the promotion push. We wouldn't have missed half the chances on Saturday with him in the side.

What we need in our side is a hard working journeyman.

I'm sure he could be tempted out of retirement!

One of the best goal celebrations ever at Withdean. Can anyone remember the match? He went on a semi circuit of the stadium after scoring into the west goal. Was he the only ex-manager every brought in to play for us?

The only time I saw him play was on a Tuesday night away at Rochdale. We were fairly comfortable at 1-0 up with no more than about 2 minutes to go, then Adams subbed him on and we conceded a last minute equaliser.

I think I remember that one. he was subbed on, everyone was taking this piss "He's brought Stant on, he's about 80", then he scored within a couple of minutes of coming on and the whole stand erupted into "Ooh, Ahh, Stantona".

Classic!

I recall this, a bad substitution.

Stant was a legend,

He did more than a job for us.
