Saw this happen a few years ago when Grimsby were 4-0 down at half-time against Lincoln. Didn't do anything then as they went on to lose 6-0 :)

But, it would be interesting if the Albion had a team-talk on the pitch unfront of a baying crowd.

Standing in the way of control
Hmm. Bit gimmicky. Reminds me of the whole huddling before the game thing, which made me feel nauseous when our lot did it today.

"It's all about what you do on the dancefloor," as Martin Allen said recently. Not about gestures.

I think that Brown was gutted and tried to shame the players in to upping their game, theres nowhere to hide on the pitch.......... thats what he was trying to show

Stupid, absolutely ridiculous.

Look at the season Hull have had and one bad half and he's doing that.

What confidence is that going to do his players?? I bet the City fans loved it. No place in the Premier League for stunts like that.

No problem with it.

He had nothing to lose- they were already getting steamrollered by that point- so he might as well give them a kick up the arse that they won't forget.

Yes, it may have been a bit of a PR stunt I suppose- but how many times are we on here moaning about how much footballers are indulged and cossetted? About time somebody made them feel a little uncomfortable, and let them be judged by people who, after all, pay a hell of a lot of money to watch them.

Was it Micky Adams that invited some fans into a team talk? Back when he was with Leicester, I think.

Bit of a popularist move from Brown, but relatively novel and he had nothing to lose at that stage.

I don't think "You Shook me all night long" had half time team talks in mind when it was written...:D

It's been done to me when playing and it had the desired effect not necessarily in the second half but for the rest of the season because the players won't want that again if they have any pride in themselves.

Although there weren't quite as many fans watching us!

Top and decision IMO as he doesn't want the winning momentum to disappear.

Thought that was fatastic from brown,to many players get away with murder in which ends up getting good managers the sack.Reminds me of the brian clough days:thumbsup:
You have to wonder why so many players are awsome one week and shite the next:shrug:

I hope there will be days when players get the sack as quick as managers do.

Didn't Mullery send our brave lads back out to the pitch at half time, seemed to do the trick that day if I remember!!!

Yes iundeed. We were 2-0 down at home to millwall. After about 5 mins of the break Mullery sent the team out for the rest of half time in the pouring rain.

Did the trick, we won 3-2.

Well done to Phil Brown. There's too many players who 'hide' for the time they are playing on the pitch and it's good to see that the manager expects better.

No problem with it. They lost the first half 4-0 but the second was 1-1. Didn't win them a point but they stopped the rot and lets be honest, doesn't matter what they did, they would never claw back four goals. Good luck to them. It could be us in a few years time when you consider from where they came!
