Indeed not. Better smaller clubs Swindon and Millwall have been overlooked at the expense of Southampton who have been gash considering their wealth and have 3 players in it.
Agreed. No coincidence really that it's made up of players from the four teams that were recently in the Premier League.. and oh - a recognizable name who spent most of his career in the PL. But I guess it's always going to be the way, the most obvious, high profile players will always make the team. I'd feel pretty hard done by if I was a Millwall or Swindon fan. Especially Millwall who have the best defence in the league.

Forster at Norwich has been a better keeper than Davis, Puncheon has done sod all and only got in on reputation.

Not sure who from Swindon you'd put in to be honest- other than their two strikers-and you can't really argue about Lambert & Holt being picked for this team- I can't think of any other Swindon players who'd get in. Similar with Millwall, Morison has played well but is not better than Lambert or Holt.

Still, Beckford usually gets picked no matter how lazy or crap his form, so I suppose we should be grateful at least that hasn't happened this time.

Suprised Fraser Forster on loan at Norwich is not the goalkeeper as I thought that he was the best I have seen this season. Cannot think of one Swindon player better than anybody in the team in their position nor Millwall come to think of it. Both Millwall and Swindon have achieved success as good all round teams without any star individuals.

Madness that there's two Charlton players in it, they have been miserable this season. Another case of reputation counting over true form.

No Huddersfield players despite them utterly SPANKING several teams this season  and scoring goals galore?

But Huddersfield were WOEFUL for the middle part of the season. They've only just picked up form once the spectre of Southampton began to loom, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the play-offs now.

I'd have Jonathon Douglas in that team rather than Puncheon, but other than that I think they've got that pretty much sown up. Huddersfield have been amazing at times, but casual at others and only Rhodes has been brilliant consistently, I think. And he won't get in the team ahead of Holt and Lambert, the best two strikers in the division.

I'm not convinced Kelvin Davies has been better than Fraser Forster though, or David Lucas for that matter. David Forde of Millwall deserves a mention in goal aswell.

Mcgovern instead of puncheon, most assists in the league and douglas instead of Bailey. Not that bothered to be honest, i just hope us millwall or hudders go up then the team of the year can stick it up there arse.

I don't rate Forde at all, every time I've read his name in a match report this season it's been because he's chucked one in.

I only thought of Huddersfield because they must have some fairly decent midfielders- Roberts, Pilkington etc- and the midfield is where I think that PFA team looks a bit lame. Hoolahan, no question he's been brilliant all season, Snodgrass has probably been one of the few Leeds players to shine, but I think Puncheon and Nicky Bailey have got in because of who they are, not how they've played.

I was impressed with Myles Weston the Brentford left winger. 11 goals is not a bad return and he gave Calderon a good battle at Withdean, putting in 5 or 6 quality crosses in the first half. I reckon Calderon edged the second half though.

Whenever I've seen the highlights of Millwall he's been absolutely outstanding, and I've always rated him. I think I'm right in saying that the Millwall defence has been consistently good this season, and he's been a big part of that. But I have also seen some strange mistakes from him, probably why he's not in the team of the season!

I agree, they've got some brilliant midfielders. Drinkwater has been superb at times aswell, and Anthony Kay. I think you're perhaps a bit hard on Puncheon, but not on Bailey. I don't think he's been better than Jonjo Shelvey, even, in the same side!

Puncheon is by far the best left winger in the division and one player I would have loved us to have signed.

I made a slight adjustment, but I agree. Mainly because Snodgrass tends to play on the right, and Gary Roberts is too inconsistent for Huddersfield. On the right I'm happy enough with Bennett, but I would prefer to have JP McGovern.

Don't get me wrong, Puncheon is a good player, but he hasn't been in League One all season (isn't he on loan at Southampton?) and he's been good at times, average at others.

I just meant that he hadn't earned his place on form, merely on his name alone.

Ian Harte has to be the ultimate 'picked on reputation' choice I've ever seen.

To be fair;

1. Left back is a shit position. No outright winners.

2. He has scored 16 league goal this season (albeit the majority are freekicks)

No, they signed him permanently in January.

As for left backs, why shouldn't Harte be in the team? As mr Hale points out, 16 goals! Name a left back who has had a better season at this level?
