Peter Wards shirt. Can NSC buy it ? Sticky please Mods.

Would any one else be willing to contribute to a fund which would enable us to buy Wardys number 8 shirt and then donate it to the club museum ?

I don't know how much there is in the NSC coffers at the moment but I would happy for some of it to go towards what would be a great thing to do.

We would need someone to go to the auction and bid on our behalf.

If someone's willing to do this I will start by pledging £30

We could pay Bozza in the same way we do the player sponsorship ?

Great idea! The shirt deserves to be on public display, not a private collection, IMHO.

Good idea, but rule number 1 of any auction is never let on that you are definately going to buy an item. This could push the price well up.

If the club confirm that they will display it in the club shop I’ll happily donate a score.

What a ruddy great idea. I will chip in, but we only have until Sunday to raise £400-£500

Would it be enough? I have already indicated that I would go for it at a monkey but dont think it will be enough.

The alternative is that if the club dont already have such an item then surely they will have a provision in place to secure said item.

I will 'Ask the club'

OK, so how would people feel about using NSC money to do this ?
My thought are we could maybe have £400-£500 from NSC and the rest from pledges. Any money left after we'd purchased it could be used to get our resident graphic artist (TLO) to design some kind of presentation plaque thingy to go with the shirt. And any left after that donated to REMF.

You know I was wondering if we should get it signed or not. If it was framed we could have a seperate bit with Wardy's signiture,

I'm currently trying to find out if I'm working on Sunday. If I'm not I'll come down for the auction and bid. Be good if others came and we could get some photo's.

Also Mendoza if it goes to plan I'm going to be in Brighton on the 30th so would be able to join you with the shirt if thats ok.

Maybe the Historians' society is planning on bidding anyway in order to display it at any planned museum. 'We' could just end up in a bidding war between 2 parties who, ultimately, want the same thing.

If people want to use NSC funds they better make good use of the Amazon affiliate link for their Christmas shopping.

I can see this match worn shirt going for well over a grand as it has kosher provenance.
