If only we had Pedro in the current squad.

If only we had Pedro in the current squad.

He's getting on a bit now to make the first team, don't you think? Though I reckon we could probably get him on a free, helping FFP compliance no end.

I'll get my coat.

PS. Best striker I've ever seen in the stripes, imo....

He was our Lionel Messi. Always has been my favourite player and I feel so lucky to have watched him from the start to the finish of his career with us.

Hope some of the younger posters on here watch that and maybe appreciate why he's such an Albion legend.

That Walsall game that night will live forever in the memory, the rocket that Mullers gave them at 0 - 0. Spider and Wardy were unstoppable second half. Happy days.

Before my time. Clearly a very good player. The standard then was nothing like it is now, was it? He'd never get that kind of space and time on the ball in today's game. Terrible defending in most of those clips.

I have watched BHAFC for 40 years and Peter Ward is the best player for BHAFC in that time and that is a FACT.

Mark Lawrenson showed similar class and went on to a higher level with success, something that cannot be truly afforded to Wardy although at the Div 3/Div 2 level he WAS superb.

He got 14 league goals in our first season in the top flight.

Not disputing his goal scoring ability, just personally I feel Lawro read the game, had great pace and fierce tackle and was great stepping forward from the back with the ball. A poor man's Beckenbauer perhaps, but overall a much classier player surely?

Point made. Wardy did succeed in the top flight. He fell out with Mullery and Clough stitched him up.

Wardy had a better 'tache than Lawro.

Ward made the crowd buzz everytime he got the ball as you knew something special was most likely going to happen.
