Fans blaming the loss to Fulham due to not having a recognized striker on the pitch….forgetting the away wins last season not having a recognized striker on the pitch

Similarly, I say blaming everything on a single event during the game and ignoring everything else that happened.

Oh boy yeah this.

I got so hacked off after we bottled the Championship title when people were blaming it on Stockdale for the Grealish goal at Villa Park. As if we hadn't had two winnable games prior to that each filled with hundreds and hundreds of individual and team decisions.

Good grief.

In a similar vein and Sky commentators love this - after a player misses an easy chance, "Will they rue that come the end of the season?"

Nope, they won't. They'll rue it on the coach back home no doubt, but at the end of the season? No.

Beckham's 'Super Hero' act.

We drew at home to Greece. If we'd lost, we'd be in a play-off. Goldenballs had about 72 free kicks that day, this was about the first on target.

Madness I tell you.

You mean like people referring to Brighton & Hove Albion as Brighton

Forest fans hate anyone calling their team Notts Forest, maybe it’s because of their neighbours being Notts County.
I very much doubt any Albion fan is bothered about anyone referring to us as Brighton.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
The perpetual whinging about refereeing decisions.

Get over it.

When i lived in Hove in the 70s and 80s and this came up ALL of the Hove lads i knew were pissed at it .

This. It's not the same.

So you would drop & Hove Albion ? . How many would be happy with just Albion ? .
Next door to the City Ground as you know is Nottinghamshire CCC , also known throughout cricket as Notts , they don`t seem to have a problem ? .

They don’t have a rival cricket team called Notts though

Not sure if you have the wrong end of the stick here or what. But Notts with an S is basically reserved for Notts County. When referring to Forest it's either just Forest or Nottingham Forest. This has nothing to do with abbreviating the name of the club. So it is not the same as Brighton and Hove Albion being called Brighton or Albion or whatever else. It's not the same thing.

People referring to The Premier League as The Premiership!

‘From 1993 to 2001, the league was called the FA Carling Premiership. Barclaycard took over in 2001 and since then it is known as the Barclays Premier League.’
