We had exactly the same thing at Christmas - sudden empty chocolate decorations from the tree appeared - naturally we blamed the three year old, who was executed for crimes againsty humanity, only to discover it was a mouse (how we laughed).

Anyway, got a plastic mouse trap. Loaded with chocolate - zapped him first night. Felt sad at first, then relieved that the majority of the Christmas chocolate was still mine.

I miss my son though.

Executed!? :lolol:

Deseprate - You can buy a humane trap and then take the offender out into the countryside for the hiding of his/her life and let him loose miles from your home.

Best to act fast. In Ecuador, we used to make our own bread and it was only until we got half way through a massive sack of flour, that we realised a mouse had eaten it's way into the sack and died.

They will 'home' for a mile or two, so better get them a looong way away if you want to make sure they live to nibble another day.

A snake owner would be grateful though

A friend of mine had one too and he spent 3 months driving the little beast around the country side - only for it to come back everytime to be caught.

Thick but persitent. (actually, this could be either of them)

On the terraces!!
we had a couple in our loft last summer - at first we went with the humain traps - then after i caught 2 and heard more i went all out for the old fashioned ones that break the kunts in half - caught quite a few in the end as they hide under the insulation and u hear them occasionally above your heads.

ten low and behold last week i heard another little "scurry" in the loft - f*** SAKE!!!

they breed like er...erm...mice!! :lolol:

We had a humane trap and caught about 15 of the buggers.

But the last straw was when we found that one had eaten through the teat on the baby's bottle.

We got pest control in...they put down poison and we haven't had, er, a squeak ever since.

It takes a while for humans to catch on - but they will breed and breed. If you set a 'humane' trap you still have to take them somewhere, and unless it's an island somewhere (or to a pet shop to feed the snakes) they'll come back.
