What do people think of these rumours!? It would be a good for I think but a lot of pressure on Pep to succeed in terms of his reputation and expectations of Bayern.

What with Mou seemingly having burnt his bridges at Real and wanting one last battle with Fergie could be an interesting summer in terms of top level management changes.

He'll go to Chelsea in the summer and last approximately 7 months before being sacked.

People are just assuming that Pep is a good manager. I think the only thing his managerial spell at Barcelona proves is that he's definitely not an AWFUL manager, but you would do very well to fail there. Big gamble for Bayern I say.

I think that's true but he's proved he can manage a big club with big names and that is the most important thing. I think he'd do a good job at Man City.

Certainly if he goes to Bayern and fails it would make his success look like the result of the situation at Barca rather then his management. Lots of pressure to succeed.

I see Real might be interested in Laudrup, kick in the testy for Swansea!!

I think a lot of people are seriously devaluing the job he did at Barcelona. Yes, he had Iniesta, Xavi, Messi etc but he completely transformed that team and their style of play. He added a few new elements to their style, like the pressing high up the pitch and working hard for each other as well as being incredible technically. He promoted Buckets and Pedro from the youth system and developed them into top class players, and managed to win pretty much everything with Valdes in goal. No mean feat.

I see Real might be interested in Laudrup, kick in the testy for Swansea!!

As a Real Madrid enthusiast, I would welcome that. Dignified and understated personality with a desire to build a quality attacking football team. No offence to Mourinho, but he has been repugnant as Real Madrid manager. I'll happily welcome him back to England, but he's been such a nasty piece of work over there.

It'll get to December and Abramovich will want to know why he hasn't won the European Cup yet.

"Mr DeMatteo won it in just a couple of months and you have had at least four. Goodbye Mr Guardiola...."

Anything that further strengthens the Bundesliga - and its business model - is a good thing.
Frankly there's very little I like about English/world football at the moment*

* Stuff read on this subject in last 24 hours
- £62 lino not picked for next match
- Redknapp about to spank more money at another relegation bound side
- Qatar's currently non-existent and utterly extravagant world cup infrastructure
- Article in national paper discussing economic rent-seeking nature of English football - and our economy in general
- Sepp Blatter talking about having any future in football
- English clubs trying to circumnavigate financial fair play legislation from Europe
- Michel Platini's name

He was part of the furniture at Barca and had probably the best squad in world football at his finger tips. He will be massively out of his comfort zone in Germany or England its not a done deal he will repeat his success...look at Capello for example!

Guardiola to Man City is a no-brainer for all concerned, City already employ the former Barcelona Directors Of Football, Of Youth AND their ex-Chief Executive.

It also wouldn't surprise me if Ferguson won the league and retired thereafter.

Good move for him and get a chance to learn how they produce the best youngsters outside of Barca. Has to be said though that they buy up 2/3 of their prospects from the rest of Germany so maybe that will be part of his duty. To get them set up to attract all the 12/13 year olds not the break out 17/18 year olds.
