He's expected to confirm today that he's leaving Barca at the end of the season as he feels that both himself and the team could benefit from a change.

The initial suggestion seems to be that he wants to take a break from football for at least a year (and I wouldn't blame him), but there's speculation linking him with Chelsea, Man City and Milan already. I wonder though, could he be tempted by a bit of part-time work, for example managing an international side which is currently managerless heading into a big tournament in the Summer?

I know it's dreamland (or would be for me at least), but I wonder if the FA would even consider asking the question.

Absolutely this. No England player would get in the Barcelona team as they are not good enough. They would be incapable of playing that way.

I hate to say it, but I agree.

Best person for England is Redknapp. England are never going to be able to play "total football", the dutch way as has been adopted by Barcelona (probably due to the big dutch influence). I love "total football", but will take years of training camps to be able to play like that imho.

I think we have to find someone who's a motivator more than anything. Someone who's been in the business a long time, and knows when to park the bus, and when to go for it.

Mourhinho is a great choice, but would never take it. SIr Alex of course would be superb, but is scottish and would never take it.

The best English person who I think fits into this category and will probably be available is Harry Redknapp. I think he'll get the most from our squad and knows the players pretty well already.

So I really don't think any foreign manager who's used to this kinda style (no matter how much he's won) would ever work I'm afraid. But that's personal opinion.

I don't think he'd take the job without tons of money in the pot to buy players. Man City he'd take I reckon. But I think Mancini is pretty good considering how far Man City have come.

Maybe they could swap like Adams and Taylor did a few years ago? Brighton is already the Barcelona of the UK and they'd save on stamp duty. Everyone's a winner.

Exactly why a motivator is what we need. Harry Redknapp has nothing to lose taking the job as soon as the seasons over. If it goes wrong he just says "well I didn't have the time".

Personally I thought Bobby Robson was the best England manager of my generation, perhaps followed by Terry venebles. But reackon Harry is up there with those two.

Brighton IS the Barcelona of the UK, my two favourite cities in the world, both similar in a lot of ways, although i'd be happier if Barcelona swapped kits with Espanyol!

We should give Pearce the job for the euros and tell him to play the kids whilst using this Summer to create a strategy for the future and World Cup 2014.

As for Guardiola I don't think this was a result of the bad recent form, he's been stalling the contract for months. Maybe he needs to reflect how he disappeared up his own arsehole with the Barcelona way, and that playing 3 defenders and 7 midfielders whilst passing it from one touchline to the other isn't going to work.

I wonder if Capello will end up at Barcelona.

I think a move to the Prem for Pep maybe risky, true he's built a good side at Barca but not sure how they would fare playing a full season of that style in the UK.
Most of his side are Spanish or Latin so not sure many would want to follow him to UK, especially Messi etc which means he's starting afresh here rather like AVB had to at Chelsea after his success at Porto.
Trying to instill that pass/pass style of football at a club which doesn't have players with a superb 1st touch, like Barca would be risky or the owner will need £200/300million to build a new side for him. If I were an owner I'd think very carefully that I'm buying Pep the manager, not Barca the team if I make him manager.

Obviously MARADONNA will become the new Barca manager.

On a serious note I could easily see them pinching the Bilbao manager or even promoting from within. They NEED someone who knows their style already. Those players are now moulded to play that way and I can definitely see a coach promoted if pep does leave.

Regarding Pep's next move. Could you just IMAGINE his face if he turned up as England manager, went to his first training session, and watched talents such as Gareth Barry, Darren Bent and James Milner attempt his barca styled play,
