So, who is looking forward to this? Not many shows continue to be quality by the time they get to the 8th series.

I am liking the Sunday night scheduling as well, lovely way to end a weekend :)

Use to watch it until about series 4. Then I didn't have a clue when it was on tele. Will be watching this series though because like you say...liking the Sunday night scheduling!

It was always on a Friday night so needless to say loads of people missed it. The last couple of series have been great though so I would definitely suggest going back to watch any you have missed.

it'll surely go down as one of the best british sit coms of all time....very few have been consistently as good as peep show for that amount of time

When Mark told Jez that Gerard had died...

"Bullshit.."
"Oh shit, flu, that's so Gerard"

(roughly translated)

Underwhelming (apart from Johnson's eulogy), they've all gone boringly middle aged

Really? I thought it was great. Peep show is one of those that you have to watch a couple of times but even on first showing I thought it was LOL.

There were definitely some underwhelming moments. Mark mistakenly referring to himself by the interviewer's name made me cringe and the bit with the curry was also pretty poor. Having said that, the idea of Gerrard tormenting Mark from the grave was a classic Peep Show scenario and there were some decent one-liners. Hope there is better to come, but a pretty decent start I'd say.

Re: the middle aged comments, is there not a danger that the audience are growing up too?

Given the show started nine years ago I think it's telling that its moved from Friday into a Sunday night slot with a slightly more subdued advertising campaign than usual. My 30s was a long way off when I started watching the show whereas now hangovers last several days and I have no idea who's top of the pops.

Seemed as good as it ever was to me. Long may it continue

Meh, I didn't laugh that much but the old ones always grew on me before I appreciated them too.

Haven't been keen on many of the peripheral characters for a few seasons now. Dobbie is simply not funny, and Jeremy's consistent failure in life has gone from hilarious (season 1 ep 1) to boring and slightly sad.

Having said that I did enjoy Mark's speech at the funeral.
