Before I get told to use search, it isn't working for me.

My PC is completely riddled with viruses. Can anyone recommend a comoany/engineer who will repair it for me and install some decent anti-virus software, and how much would the whole operation cost? Also am I right in thinking, taking it into PC world is a bad idea?

Thanks in advance :)

It's a Toshiba laptop, about 3 years old. Is that old?

Also, I have tried dowloading AVG before, but my laptop is so f***ed I cant do it.

low level format, re-install o/s

not difficult
Yep this is your best bet.

Back up stuff you need to keep, whack in your original xp disc (assuming you have it...), format c drive and reinstall. Takes a while but easy really.

I do not know much about computers but I had a similar problem and took it to PC World who suggested backing everything up and then doing a restore to factory settings which is built into Windows XP and doesnt need a disc.
