Excited at the prospect but I know SFA about him really ... hoped the interview may ask the question but it didn't ... just wondering what he offers and how does his style differ from Barnes/Hoskins ... what can we expect to see different?

More physical and more direct, better with his head. Less ability than Hosking and Barnes with his feet, although he can get the scruffy goals that some strikers don't seem to get.

One goal in over twenty games for Leeds. Not at all prolific.

be interesting to see what he offers in terms of assists mind , we've got goalscorers - just we don't have anyone to play the right ball in!

Don't expect nifty finishes or magical strikes. Strong right foot if given space but slow backlift and release. Got no guile for a big man and doesn't impose himself physically regularly. Bechio for example would make sure the defender had a hard night, even if he didn't score or play well in general. Very streaky with goals. Won't look like scoring or creating for long periods in the game as his movement and goal scoring instincts aren't all that great. Just don't expect goals in other words but if he fits in, he can facilitate well and lead the line.

IMHO Gus must have seen something when he was playing at Swindon to keep chasing him.

Looks to have had a rough time at Leeds (not many games started and being on the bench if those stats are right) so not able to get a real run and gain that all important CONFIDENCE.

Maybe with Gus's guidance we'll get to see the old Billy, looks like Barnes will be on the bench again though!

I can't remember us having such a choice of strikers to choose from, another great headache for Gus though.

On a side note are we turning into a decorating firm, as we now have 2 painters!!!!!

SORRY!!!!

He has clearly not been bought in as a 20 goal a season man. His stats at Leeds aren't great as most of the appearances were for 10 minutes or less. He has been bought to get the best out of CMS and to give us an option to make the ball stick up top when we have to play it long

Hopefully he's someone to aim for at corners!

This. Or when we whack it clear in the hope it wont come STRAIGHT BACK TO US which has happened, oooh every game too many times.

Basically he is there to bounce balls off.

I think it's another option, either from the bench when we need to change things up, or as welcome company for CMS if we choose to tweek the formation. Can't believe the reaction of some on here - it's a signing - that's always exciting - let's see what happens - better that having no competition for places???

Its not another striker we want, our existing front men would do the job if we moved the ball through to them a lot quicker.
Pleased its only a loan because we need to find out if he can find the net in the Championship.

Lots of goals for Scunthorpe
Not many for Leeds

the stats are pretty false for leeds. how many minutes did he play? he said it himself in the argus - he played 5 mins here and there. hardly stats to get worried about IMO.

his swindon stats are more of a reflection but the downside of those is they were in a lower division.

is he going to be any good? my guess is as good as the next mans. lets stop the small talk and wait for the big man to show us on the pitch. then we'll judge!
