Paul Watson nearing fitness?

Quote from the Argus website:

Paul Watson, plagued by injuries this season, could be available again as early as next Saturday's visit to Bristol City after recovering from a pelvic cyst.

"He is back training and we have just got to see how he reacts," McGhee said. "At the moment he seems okay."

Well he has Virgo, El-Abd and Hinshelwood in front of him now.

Good luck to him.

The way Virgo an El-Abd have played recently and the fact that Hinsh seems to have been banished to Croydon means you will probably find he is back in the side with Mayo, just in time for the play offs....

Bit harsh, as we have not conceded a goal for the last two games, Watson would give us an option in midfield ??

Watson is midfield, I would rather not, it is bad enough watching the game bypass Oatway, without another one doing it.

I was being slightly tongue in cheek about our full backs, although neither have played all that well in the last couple of games. It is more the fact that Watson and Mayo always seem to get back in the side in the end.

Paul's worth his place in the squad no doubt. Great tackler. Get's caught for pace sometimes but his positional play is better than the youngsters, which you'd expect given his experience. Scares the hell out of a lot of forwards too. Shame his set piece play has gone to pot somewhat.

Dont think Iv ever heard Watto described as a great tackler before!! Hes had it, slow, poor passing and no bottle, if he has to come back, please make sure its just warming the bench.

Watto'll score the winner on Saturday now, with one of his free-kicks of old - setting up Turkey for a marvellous gloating session.

Or we'll lose 3-0, and they'll all be his fault.

Watto has never been a great tackler or defender. He was however invalubale in the back to back championships because of his corners and free-kicks.

However, somehow over the summer between the rise from the second to the first div he forgot how to cross a ball or deliver a free kick. I still do not understand how he used to be able to curl the ball in to the top of the net consistently but now cannot lift a corner over the first defenders head :dunce:

If Watto replaces anyone in our current team, I'll seriously doubt McGhee's managerial qualities. Watto can't tackle, can't pass and can't take corners and he is not a patch on either of our current full backs. It would be a travesty of justice if he replaced either of them in my humble opinion.

Enough said.

Last couple of games that Watto played, he looked like what the kinder, simpler folk on here say about David Lee 'a good squad player'. Which is nice-person-speak for a waste of space, just going through the motions in the first team. There's no way Watto should just stroll back into the side. Let him fight for his place like everybody else.

Blackwell is pencilled in for a return in the Sussex Cup Final so he may play a part in the play-offs as well.

If there is any pace in the Bristol City side ( and I'm sure there's plenty) the idea of Watto, in the past 18 months form, defending against it is nearly enough to make me sell my ticket for this w/e
