Is his budget lower than what Wilkins had do you think? I would imagine it's pretty similar, but judging by Adams' signings so far I think his might be a tad lower.

I thought his signings started out ok but then it seemed to go down hill rather rapidly from the moment we re-signed Hart & Mayo.

I agree, was expecting more of Livermore n'all, he arrived with a good reputation. I'm sure Adams must realise we are short of a back-up striker and creative midfielder, he's just unable to sign one with quality and who is within our budget, their must have been players out their who he has identified but has been told by the board the funds arent there.

Is it fair to assume Adams is right on the limit of his wage budget?
I doubt that. But I do think he may have under-estimated what it's going to take to get out of the division. I expect we'll use the loan market to strengthen/augment until the window opens in the New Year.

Just before the season started the concensus on NSC was that the players brought in over the summer were good signings and that we had a squad that would be in with a chance of at least the playoffs. Micky obviously felt that too.

Now we find that either a) the team isn't as good as we thought or b) the Division is of better quality than we thought .

I hope Micky will be given the resources to improve the team, but he would be in a better position if he hadn't kept Mayo and Hart.

Maybe, but I fear that the re-signing of Mayo and Hart and talk about Currie and Brooker suggests that MA doesn't have the knowledge about players at our level that we might expect. Hence the easy option, sign players you have worked with before, even if they have gone downhill since.

Or am I being unfair?:)

Also not sure about Larry Boyd's success in helping to bring in new players, performance a bit patchy so far.
Your first point is something I've also thought, it shouldn't be the case though. It's not as if he's been out of the game, he was with Colchester and then did scouting for Stoke. Also Lloyd probably doesn't have as much influence, he's not an Adams man is he, they probably didn't know each other until now.

Having said that though, Brooker might be ok... he's obviously lost his way somewhere along the line but at 31 and with his ability he could maybe still do a job.
