Do they hate each other ?That is very sad, a brilliant sports journalist.
I'm heading to Tannadice next month for the Dundee derby. I'll raise a glass for him.
I don't know, I expect so. I think they are the closest two grounds in Britain.Do they hate each other ?
That’ll be a great experience. notts county and Forest get on well, so maybe there’s a Dundee love in.I don't know, I expect so. I think they are the closest two grounds in Britain.
I've got to go on the train to get from Elgin to Edinburgh and spotted that I'll be passing through Dundee on the day of the derby. So I've made a plan to jump off for 3 hours and watch the game.
When I was at school the Notts supporters really didn’t like Forest. I think the Forest supporters thought of Notts as an irrelevance as they kept their contempt for Derby. As a neutral, I quite liked them both unless they were playing the AlbionThat’ll be a great experience. notts county and Forest get on well, so maybe there’s a Dundee love in.
Not really. They have a bit of a banter and a rivalry that mainly consists of calling each other rude names and a lot of swearing, but Dundee isn’t a big place and most people have friends and relatives on both side and they’ll still drink together and stuff.Do they hate each other ?
I thought there was a Catholic/Protestant thing going on, like with all Scottish rivalries. Dundee United joined in the abuse and disrespectful chants when there was a minute’s silence for the Queen, I recall, like Celtic and Hibs did. That said, I went to a Hibs game this season and found them to be the friendliest people so I wouldn’t tar them all with the same brush. Not really. 'Almost everyone'? That surprises me tbh.Nah not really. Most clubs are kind of identified as being one or the other, because historically cities and teams were divided as such, but in the present day it’s not honestly much of a consideration outside of a few wee bams. The only clubs that really care about that these days (despite what the media want to say) is Rangers and Celtic. Even THEY care about it less and less as well.
Almost everyone hates the Royal family up here. That’s nowt to do with religion, that’s a bit more to do with nationalism now.
