I don’t know how the IT works but maybe they simply see what wallet the (named) ticket is uploaded to………would be very simple from there to have an exception report that highlights any name differences.

Nope as I have all the tickets for my group on my phone and none of them have been contacted by the club.

Really interested to learn how the club found out about it.

Bit confused, had to send on the email for guests when I bought the guest tickets (obviously tickets are in my name) so what’s the difference to the OP here?
Exactly what I thought. Something doesn't add up somewhere.

17/04/2023 I was PM'd buy another NSC member. We arranged payment and forwarding of booking confirmation email.
He uploaded ticket to his wallet.
Today I received the email with the sanction

Agreed, I bought my son and kids tickets from the second round of ticket purchases. I said it was print at home but he has uploaded to his phone rather than print out. Am I also about to get a ban? As a 1901er I was under the impression that you could pass tix on. Waits nervously….

I didn’t even take payment as I treated them to the tix and I’m not a fat bastard who needs three seats to myself :lolol:

Edit - did the OP pass on the ticket he bought in his name as a season ticket holder in the first raft of priority purchases rather than the extra tickets he was entitled to in the second raft for “guest tickets”, if so I get why he got the ban.

Whilst I'm sorry to hear the OP has now got a 10 match ban I'm wondering if they've been under a rock for the past year? All the stuff with collecting tickets at away matches, names written on tickets, posts here about people getting bans for doing exactly that. It's not exactly new is it?
But it is new isn't it. Albion don't get to Wembley very often and it's a neutral venue. I imagine if the OP read the Wembley T & C's for a match at Wembley, he would assume Wembley T & C's would apply and trump Brighton T & C's. I would email Paul Barber and ask for clemency for what seems a genuine misunderstanding of which T & C's apply, then publish the outcome on here for all to see and beware. Knowing PB, I would expect a published answer on NSC within the hour.

You can appeal, which I did and if you explain the circumstances etc and are completely truthful you might get it reduced to 5 games ( which I ended up receiving)

Which is why I would be going mad at the club if this was me, and appealing against the punishment. There is clear conflicting information out there on this.

There are some fans, like many on here, who will involve themselves in every match and discuss all the clubs various pronouncements on here or twitter or wherever and have a strong awareness of club policy.

There are many more who just want to go to football from time to time. They won't read the details of every email and don't feel the need to fully read to terms and conditions of every business they contract with.

Maybe, OP, you feel like you are in the second category. My point is that coming down on people moving tickets for face value with bans is needlessly aggressive.

how’s sending the email on different to sending a guest ticket on?? how do they know
Guest tickets are no-name no-packdrill. Risk is all on the person buying the guest ticket. Which is how it should be, seeing as how the anonymous 'guest' ticket could potentially be punted multiple times via email. Nice scam if you can get it

Definitely more to this. I can’t see how the club would know if it’s been passed on,
This. I got seven tickets for our group, legitimately. They are all STHs and on my Friends and Family. So that we can arrive together or separately I then forwarded the email with the link to three different email addresses so the tickets could go on the correct phone.

After that, although I am the "prime" I have no control of those tickets or if the correct download link is used by the correct person.

I trust my mates, luckily, but forwarding of email and tickets on multiple phones was all part of a perfectly legitimate process.

Your assumption is correct I get to maybe 10 games a season. I agree that it is harsh as it was 1 ticket at face value surely a warning is more appropriate for most supporters like me.
