parking at Ashford International

okay ladies and gentlemen I AM familiar with 'google' but hey, i've had a few beers in the sunshine down on the beach today and the eurostar website hasn't cleared much up, I'm also a believer that you can't beat the font of first hand knowledge that is NSC, so what's the deal if you're parking at Ashford for about 5 days? thanks in advance PS i'm bumping the EuroSidney thread so any tips there are welcome as well....love u lots xxx

Posh end of Shoreham
Parked my car there a couple of years ago for 7 days while we travelled around France by train it cost £10 a day so for only £70 for the week quite good value

I'll check it out although i was under the impression it was knocked on the head, however I will be driving

I live near Ashford so use it quite often. Only hourly service but it gets you there!

I'm going to Ashford International next week and have an hour and 40 minutes to kill before our Eurostar. Is there a cafe outside the station at all? (I know there's one inside but I seem to remember it being very small)

Have you thought about Ebbsfleet instead? Depending on where you're driving from of course, but its right by the M25/M2 junction. If planning to go via M23/M25 Ebbsfleet is closer than Ashford. Plenty of big car parks and more Eurostars stop there I think. You take your ticket as you park and pay at the machine at the station when you are ready to leave - just stick a credit card in it (Im sure thats the same as Ashford).

Nope not really there is one on the platforms and one at the front of station, there is a pub across the road next to the nightclub, not been in there since taken over but used to be a dive.

Best place for a nice cafe would be in town but that's a 15min walk or a quick taxi

Ha ha , you must be a slow walker

It's about a 5 - 7 min walk into town. Turn right at the pub/Hustle nightclub and up the road. Before you know it you see Pizza Hut and Block Busters (I think). There are a few cafes, greasy spoons, Whetherspoons along there but don't know if they are any good.

Alternatively take the A route bus signed for William Harvey Hospital (Not Kennington) and you will be there in a couple of jiffies.

thanks so far, already booked from Ashford although i agree Ebbsfleet might have been better, Won't be taking the train there as a) it's sunday morning and b) the little guy's only 3 and the younger they are the more fuckin luggage they have!

Thanks for this. A greasy spoon is just what we need before a week of French breakfasts

I just need to add that you have to come out the correct side of the station to follow my instructions. On exiting the station if you see a huge building opposite called International House you can either take the bus from just outside there or follow my directions by walking left from the station.
If you exit the other side you will be faced by a huge multistory car park, in which case you turn right and after a short distance turn right again to go across the bridge and you will then see the pub/nightclub.
