Parking at Amex and AWAY friendly pubs in town?

A sheffield Weds supporting friend of mine has organised a mini-coach for transport down to the game. There will be about 16 of us, all Sheff Weds fans apart from myself.

I don't know all of them but knowing the ones I do, the others will all be sensible guys and girls too. I have a feeling that being the Brighton fan I will be asked to organise the days activities (pubs) once we have arrived in Brighton at about 2pm.

I don't normally go drinking in Brighton before a match when I come down, so can anybody on here give me any good away friendly pubs in Brighton that are likely to be MIXED (Brighton and Weds)?? I don't fancy ending up being the only Brighton fan in their 'Boys' pub but similaly i'm sure they won't want me to take them somewhere that will be full of Brighton giving them the eye.

I normally go to The Swan at Falmer for a pre-match pint and this is their type of pub, however I know they want to 'be at the seaside' for a bit before the game so i'm kind of limited to the town centre.

Secondly, does anybody know what the restrictions are at the Amex for mini-bus parking? I've seen quite a few parked in the same area as the coaches before when i've been at games. Can ANY mini-buses park there or do you need to get prior permission from someone? If so, does anybody know who I should contact?

The pubs around Brighton station will be fine. Do a mini bar crawl and include the evening star for good ale.

Speak to the club, park the 'bus at the ground and get the train back into town. All the station area will be away friendly. Enjoy. Catch the train back for the game.

Does The Swan allow away fans (these ones are not wallys)? My idea was to hang around in Brighton for a few hours then persuede them to come up to the Swan about 6pm ish for a bite to eat and a pint outside in the sunshine before the match.

Is there anywhere to avoid in town? Is anywhere renowned for attracting wallies of Brighton or away clubs?

You'll be fine in the centre, but watch out for being refused entry to some places after the match if wearing colours.

Depends on whether the police have told them they are allowed to let Wednesday fans in or not. Phone The Swan a day or two before and they'll be able to tell you. My guess is you'd be ok.

Phone up The Swan, I am sure they are quite approachable. I know some games they don't allow away fans but I am sure if you give them prior notice it should be o.k.....

Don't worry, what with it being a Friday night I think we'll be getting straight into the mini-bus and heading back Ooop north straight after the game.

This has got to be your best bet.

There is nowhere I can think of where you will be able to Park a Minibus in Central Brighton, and then drive it to The Amex. (Except the marina possibly?)

I would check to see what time you can park the minibus at the stadium from first though.

If they're going to wear their colours they should blend in pretty well anyway. Both similar kits. Our is better of course..

Good idea to park at Amex & head into town as travel is included on tickets.
