Park Incident

FOLLLOWING ON FROM OTHER POSTS:

I had one of those moments last night...............

cycling (crusing) through my local park, which was absolutely packed, three youths on their bikes made no effort to stop, with one going into my side. a bit of a standoff took place, which I think at least surprised them, I could tell one of them didn't really want to get involved. And the mouthy one, would have been completely different if on his own. I generally tried to calm things down a bit whilst getting some points across, but I would concede, lost out on the one way abuse coming my way. Interestingly they were Turkish lads, but there inmmediately "lad macho" response was too talk like a West Indian wide boy?

They cycled away in the end, I was always mindful it could go up a stage? And I am doubtful how many people would have got involved if it had turned nastier?

Being sensible here, what do you do?

to be honest i would have left it, had they been carrying a knife/gun/had friends round the corner etc things could have ended up diffrently. It could well be down to this that some youth have no respect anymore as there is no one to put them in line, teachers cant/people on streets wont say things as they used to

Of course what Jim says about the respect thing is true, but unless this lad DELIBERATELY rode into him, and I assume he didn't, why make anything of it anyway?

Even if they were mouthy little scrotes in need of taking down a peg or two, why take it upon yourself to do it? At the end of the day its just not worth confrontation.

Probably would have ridden away and then followed them at a far distance, found out as much as I could about them and then at a suitable time in the future carry out an annonymous, humiliating but harmless revenge attack on them.

Go out tooled up innit, shank the muthas!

Alternatively, stage a silent protest vigil outside the nearest kebab shop to end the Turko-British bike conflicts that cause the rift between our two great nations.

I know. I live in the second most concentrated Turkish community outside Turkey (excption being Berlin). You know, half of the kids that go to my local school are Turkish or Kurdish! So I can make a qualified statement here.

PLus, they were talking Turkish, which is a good give away.

Back to Hans comment, if it was a conplete accident, fair point, but I was not convinced it was, I did my utmost to stop, I had already veered as much as could to my right. There were families near by and I had slowed down as much I could.

My gut instinct was to get them to show some respect, also I was peeved, but I am not a scapper (30 years ago yes) but not now, and wifey and little ones would have looked a bit shocked if I had come rolling in covered in mud, blood and missing the odd tooth!

Kreuzberg. Wicked place. Going there on Saturday.

Didn't it used to be the main haunt of the anarchists and other radicals?

I remember going there about 1992, it was just opening out to the rest of Berlin, and around 97/08 (working with the local council) when one of the ubahn staions was reopened between the east and west

have fun.

This is why our society is getting worse. Too many of you are pussies all too willing to walk away and let selfish idiots get away with what is blatantly wrong. If we all stand up to them when these situations arise then there would be less trouble in the streets.

I wasn't being arsy, just interested, is there a lot of trouble from the local Turkish community or was it just kids playing the big I am? I just got back from a holiday in Turkey and was impressed with the family ethos and the warmth of the people.

i lived in east london for 5 years and there is a lot of trouble around the green lanes area between the turkish "community" and the kurdish "community", my question is why the f*** have we got a turkish or kurdish "community" in the first place ?they arent part of the commonwealth and the ones in north london are fromthe mainland, not northern cyprus.
