Lost the split decision. Hmmm....not sure whether I'd agree with that.
Could've told you that before the fight

Watching the woman's steeplechase. It shows how the African runners are great at these endurance events. Lead group entirely Africans. Then a huge gap to the second group
Another stitchup. Was ahead on 3 cards after 2 rounds and won the third clearly from what I saw. Olympic boxing judging is truly shocking. They've been trying to sort it out for 50 years and have changed it 2 or 3 times but they seem to be unable to remove the incompetence/bias/corruption no matter what they do.Much better 2nd round from Richardson. Ahead with the judges then. And a decent 3rd as well.

But with 5 of the 6 boxers gone after their first fight, Richardson's bronze was much needed.
Certainly not as good as when Susie Boon bent over the desk in Upper Sixth Pure Maths. It was the most disappointing climax I’ve seen since the DVDA moneyshot scene in European Cumbath 29
He's done very well for himself since being released by our U-21s.Josh Kerr
"I can't walk away from a Championship disappointed. I said what my goals were, it was pretty obvious but I put a performance out there today which I was extremely proud of. I focused on my controllables, I ran the best and the fastest tactical 1500m I have ever done in my life."
"When you start worrying about what everyone else does from the results, you'll never be satisfied. It's obviously not the colour of medal I want but it is working towards the right colour, from bronze to silver. I just want to thank everyone out and part of my team and family members to get me into position today to leave it all out there and that's what I did today."
"I'm 26 years old, this road is not over, I really wanted it today. I told you what I wanted and obviously I didn't get it so there is going to be that part of me that is eager and ready for that next one."
"I'm really, really proud of the way I executed today and that is just going to have to be be enough for just now. It makes me hungry and ready for more and I'm just glad I was able to add another medal to the medal count for Team GB today."

Still very suspicious of Ingebrigtsen moving across on the home straight when he was running out of juice, to let the fast finishing Yank through to win!I don't think Kerr looks stupid. He had to stay in touch with Ingebritsen, did that well but got outsprinted by a very fast finisher. It happens. Ingebritsen looks a right mug though.
Ha! I was just about to say I can hardly hear her.Paula Radcliffe currently has the sexiest voice on the planet
Spot on. The way the last 150 panned out the American got all the advantages of the slip stream and inside line but without the disadvantage of having to run wide to get a clear sprint in the home straight. Must’ve felt like all his Christmases had come at once when Ingebrigtsen stepped to the right to try and block Kerr.I don't think so. Kerr had to stay in contention with the pace, Ingebritsen has a legendary finish, so not to go with him would've been an error. Josh ran an excellent race, the American benefitted from that and that Ingebritsen was more concerned on who was outside of him than who was coming up the inside. He opened the door for Hocker where normally that wouldn't happen.
Yeah, stupid Kerr only beating his PB by nearly two seconds in an Olympic finalThey stuffed each other up there. Need to back up all the talk on the track and now they both look a bit stupid.
Well yes. I did qualify / retract my comment a little further into the thread but I guess you haven’t got to that one yet.Yeah, stupid Kerr only beating his PB by nearly two seconds in an Olympic final
Amateur boxers used to wear headguards but medical people concluded it was more dangerous for brain swirl and consequent brain damage so they decided to remove them. Female boxers still wear them though. Make of that what you will.Am I right in thinking the amateur boxers wore headguards?
Thanks for the reply. And yes, that's odd (or bullshit) that they give that reason for men only to go without guards.Amateur boxers used to wear headguards but medical people concluded it was more dangerous for brain swirl and consequent brain damage so they decided to remove them. Female boxers still wear them though. Make of that what you will.
It’s a great track for fast times though; pretty much everyone who’s come off it reckons it’s a quick track, which combined with the adrenaline of an Olympic final, is producing some fast times and WRs across the board.Yeah, stupid Kerr only beating his PB by nearly two seconds in an Olympic final
Purely out of interest, what makes a track "quick"? I understood with the pool how the depths worked and made it slow but I don't understand how running tracks can differ.
Interesting that this track is reckoned to be about 2% quicker than the one used in Tokyo.Paris Olympics: Athletics track maker promises a fast surface

Is there any sport in the Olympics which looks more ridiculous than that?Ministry of funny walks mixed race this morning.
Although I reckon walking at pace for any sort of distance looks much harder than running! Is there any sport in the Olympics which looks more ridiculous than that?
