All of them are pumped with steroids and demons. Surely they can take a little rain.Hours out waiting around in the cold and rain, just what these elite athletes needed just before their events!
What about the chap who's 100!Hours out waiting around in the cold and rain, just what these elite athletes needed just before their events!
When a French opening ceremony is relying on an old shit Canadian singer, you know you're in troubleThe hot air balloon cauldron is very cool, I like that and Celine saves the opening ceremony with a magnificent performance.
To be fair, he's got 2 weeks to recover before the Men's Marathon. What about the chap who's 100!
Superb ending.
Exactly.What about the chap who's 100!
Strangely and unexpectedly, I thought Celine’s rendition of the Piaf song was the best part of the evening. It was very French, (even if sung by a Canadian) which I think they should have concentrated on a bit more. When a French opening ceremony is relying on an old shit Canadian singer, you know you're in trouble
I'm not a huge Celine Dion fan, but how on earth can you say she's shit after that performance? It was magnificent and yeah she might not be able to do it over a whole show or tour anymore, but she still has a cracking voice after the crap she's been through recently. Need to give yourself a slap with a baguette for such a commentWhen a French opening ceremony is relying on an old shit Canadian singer, you know you're in trouble
Spot on. I notice on the Beeb Michael Johnson and Rebecca Adlington could hide their disappointment.that was worst opening ceremony I’ve seen, in a lot of opening ceremonies.
Only France could out do the French. I love France and have holidayed there loads with tent, et all.
I want to see French sports people, not random sports people.
I want to see full stadium, with the focus on those who have been training for this for years and who will ultimately be those who will be providing the sporting endeavour to compete for medals.
I don’t want to see political and social messages involved in sport. I want sport to be sport. May the best man or woman win in their chosen discipline.
And I don’t want to see a catwalk of ‘models’ in an opening ceremony of the worlds premier sporting competition.
Stay in your lane
Only the French could f^*k this up so badly
