If he's free and happy to be the back-up what's not to like. Can settle and show us he's ready to start when Pervis gets poached eventually.
If Chelsea hear we are after him they will be straight in with offers of £100k + per week in an attempt to cut out the middle man.
Oh yeah. Just like Veltman, Lallana and Welbeck. We just can’t compete with the salary of there older players.

Signing on bonus similar to the Lallana arrangement I would have thought makes us competitive still without breaking the wage structure

To my mind unless he is signed for the Develolpment Squad, we would never buy a player who is better then the present incumbent in that position.
Is Paulo Otavio a better player than Pervis Estupinan? . . . no he certainly isn't. We can only play wikth one left back.
