Could be interesting, just to see if anything new comes up in relation to FIFA's allegedly dodgy dealings. Sounds like Blatter and Jack Warner in particular aren't too happy about it being shown. If rumours are to believed, FIFA is one of the most corrupt organisations in the business. As usual I bet they escape scot free in spite of any revelations. All back on board the gravy train...

"FIFA is corrupt" - a DEVASTATING new exposé by Panorma.

Don't miss next weeks programme either - "Bear shits in woods" (with exclusive secretly filmed footage).

shame that the government funded BBC has timed this "revelation" precisely to sink for once and for all the government funded bid to host the 2018 world cup - it's called democracy isn't it?

Fifa: fresh start

Making Sepp feel better after a tough month for Fifa's image: Hyundai chairman Chung Mong-koo – renewing his firm's official Fifa partner status until 2022, backing Sepp's "vision for a better world". Sepp: "I am extremely happy... we have a shared philosophy!" (Chung's philosophy highlights: three-year suspended sentence in 2008 for fraud, breach of trust and embezzling £53m to use for bribing politicians and officials, plus a £40m fine last February for "serious managerial misconduct".)

• Also last week: Chung Mong-joon – Mong-koo's brother and Fifa's vice-president – assesses the suspensions and fines given to the executives caught in the Sunday Times sting. "Personally? I believe those measures were excessive."
Meanwhile: not upset

Jack Warner: "totally relaxed" about tomorrow's Panorama. "The BBC? I'm dismissive of their foolishness... While the BBC is doing its nonsense, I am doing my work. They do not upset me". Last time they met: 2006 – Jack door-stepped by Panorama's Andrew Jennings. Jack's best relaxed moments: "Go f*** yourself"; "No foreigner, particularly a white foreigner, will come to my country and harass me"; plus "I would spit on you – but I will not dignify you with my spit".

(Also on Jack's schedule last week: opening a Media Relations Workshop in Trinidad. Jack's message to journalists: they should avoid personal vendettas. "Football is the sport of hope, it is the sport of dreams, and it is the sport of unity. I issue a clarion call to all journalists... we must work together!")

If we don't get the world cup it won't be because of Panorama. A few things Blatter has already said suggest he knows it's going to Russia. It's all bent anyway, the entire operation is a sham designed merely to ensure Blatter is re-elected next year. He loves to be able to tell the world he's spreading the love worldwide and not just to the traditional footballing powerhouses.

Easy: I realise it's no shock that FIFA is inherently corrupt but it should still be interesting to see it brought up again, if only because it pisses off Blatter & his cronies so much when their activities are publicly revealed again.

The BBC is funded by us the license payer not the government. Personally I'd much prefer we lost the world cup bid if that's what it takes to publicly expose that criminal Blatter. In fact, we should refuse to recognise FIFA until he is arrested and brought before a court.

True. And as you say, the Russia thing is a done deal anyway so Panorama, the Sunday Times and the Mail on Sunday will have had no bearing on the decision ultimately anyway.

Interesting column from Martin Samuel today, regarding how Spain/Portugal are still considered serious frontrunners in the bid, when 12 of the 18 stadiums required there are either not yet built, under construction, or in need of upgrading. Most of the stadiums there are owned by regional authorities, meaning they will require public funding to be built - and this in two countries on an economic precipice which will probably require an Ireland-style bailout at some point. Where on earth would they find the millions upon millions to splash out building new stadiums and getting existing ones up to scratch, when at the same time their governments will have to impose severe austerity measures in order to pay back the giant bailout they are in all likelihood going to have to take ?

Its probably just as well Russia have already got it stitched up.

Any country that spouts on about 'the traditional home and values of football' in their bid rhetoric then selects MK Dons as a venue cannot in my mind be taken seriously, for that reason I hope Spain get it

In other news, and entirely unrelated to their chances of winning the 2018 race, there's an awful lot of money in Russian football isn't there?

Couldn't agree more. I'd gladly pass up the chance of holding it to bring FIFA crashing down once and for all.

As I've said on these boards before. The 2018 bid sank a long time ago due to many other reasons. At worst Panorama is the final nail in the coffin.

Just a reminder of why Warner is such a loathsome individual. He must have so much dirt on Blatter and the rest not to have been ditched long ago. If he ends up in prison somewhere, hopefully Thailand or Turkey, there is some justice.

The worst thing is, Warner controls the CONCACAF votes, and England need him onside to secure those votes, so we'll already have been toadying up to the crooked old bastard in a wasted attempt to get the 2018 gig.

As usual, he will profit from that, probably vote against us anyway, and then claim that it was due to some sort of moral objection on his part that he voted for Russia/Spain/Congo/Mongolia.

And some of that money will no doubt fall in FIFA excecutives pockets, the whole thing stinks. I've given up any hope of getting the WC now anyway so I just hope we now at least some FIFA offcials - preferably including Blatter - down with us.

Spot on. That is exactly how he has got away with it all these years, on two fronts - this one for the World Cup, and also for the election of Blatter's position of President for which he controls 35-odd votes.

I met someone on Saturday who has had a lot of business dealings with him in the Caribbean, and he is universally reviled. Everyone knows what he is about, but he knows where all the bodies are buried within FIFA and could take people down with him. It is impossible, certainly while Blatter is in charge, that he will ever be properly brought to justice.

It's also pretty clear that he is an anti-white racist, more youtube evidence of that directed at Andrew Jennings.
