As I said on the other thread I feel that there will be a major fall out from this.

Sam (and his Chairman) but especially Sam are in the shit - 3 different Agents all saying he likes a bung and if nessessary do it through his son

How many players has he signed over the past 5 years from abroad ?

Chelsea also are seen breaking league rules - you can't go around offering a youth team player 150k over 3 years who currently plays for a different club.

3 point deduction within a month - the FA will be ultra keen to be seen to clamp down hard and quickly.

Shame that the BBC didn't have the balls (Or the evidence) to name a few more names - what's the point in bleeping out the names FFS

But it seems thats all they've got - people on camera saying he likes a bung. It puts him in a shitty light (no reason to suspect they're lying is there), but its not going to be enough to PROVE it.

...plus there was a suggestion that both Liverpool and Newcastle were involved in tapping up.

Easy - let's see him come out and take the BBC to court then.

Why does he need to?

The BBC say they have some agents who have said Sam takes a bung. They don't actually have any proof that Sam takes a bung. And, I think I'm right in saying all those agents have since come out with a "I was only joking"/"I was just testing you" type of line.

Sharp intake of breath !

Surely not?
Not, Tapping Up ??!

A heinous crime of the first order.................................................... that goes on at EVERY level of the game.....

Against the rules I know, but if you can't (or won't - exception Ashley Cole) enforce it, it's hardly worth the candle.

They got nothing on Redknapp. The guy even said "we're looking to set up an agency that does everything properly", and then offered him a private jet to the World Cup - Redknapp doesn't turn it down, shock horror. Oh, and he likes Andy Todd. Complete waste of time, proved nothing.
I found myself contemplating what the difference might be between this and a [fictional] NSC question to Insider:-

Would the Albion be interested in signing Andy Todd?

He's a good player. I'll pass this suggestion on to Wendy.

Clear case of encouragement to a tapping up. We'd land a £500k fine, an immediate 30 point deduction, and have to play every 4th match blindfolded with our bootlaces tied together.

what the hell is the big deal anyway? its not like they are doing anything actually illegal even if they where taking bungs. Consider a recuitment headerhunter wanting to place a gifted person with company x and they offer the HR manager of that company a few quid to see that there man gets the job of the other candidates. nothing illegal. bit out of order, sure, but really its between the HR manager and their company.

the real problem in football is the agents, touting around the player they "represent", unsettleing them, boosting thier egos and encouraging them to move, just to take the 20%.

Oh well, at least the Albion should be clear of this, we haven't got money to buy players let alone bungs.

Wind the clock back to the deal that brought Gary Hart to the Albion, the fee for the player is being discussed when thoughts turn to sweeteners. The bung is often based on percentages of the deal, what do you think would have been offered, a hundred quid and a box of laces?

I wonder how much license payers money was 'bunged' to make that feeble load of innuendo and tosh ?
