One of THE great days on the calendar I am sure you will agree. Can't wait to tuck into a HUGE quantity of pancakes for breakfast, lunch and tea. Which are your favourite toppings to make the perfect pancake?

???

Favourite toppings?

I don't understand the question.

Pancakes are served with caster sugar and lemon juice.
There are no "toppings"

Ham, emmenthal and Dijon mustard followed by chocolate and chopped hazelnuts.
Lemon and sugar - even the thought of it puts my teeth on age.

Vive La France/God Bless America/wrongness is good.

I don't do pancakes, poor excuse for a meal and I will have chinese. The missus, however, will be making a mess in the kitchen. She will make waaaaay too many, leaving them to fester on a plate until they get consigned to the bin. The one she eats will probably have sugar and lemon juice.

Pancake Day always really makes me miss my mum. She'd just stand at the hob smashing out proper home made pancakes until we'd had enough.

Always lemon and sugar...

But a Happy Eater/Little Chef Cherry & Ice Cream was a treat!

bananas, caramelised and then flambéed in brandy, then wrapped in the pancake with chocolate sauce drizzled over and extra thick cream on the side.

The so called pancakes you get in the States at breakfast are just too sweet by the time they are drenched in maple syrup. Breakfast should be a savoury affair. I like British pancakes because they contain no sugar, and then it's up to you how much you add
