Sod the measurements, do it by eye...

Small pile of flour
3 eggs, plus one egg yolk
Some milk
Pinch of caster sugar
Some melted butter (some for the batter, some for frying)

Whisk all ingredients until a smooth batter, adding more milk if the batter is too thick. Melt some butter in a frying pan, and pour the batter into a hot frying pan to a depth of 1/4". Cook, toss, cook serve.

maple syrup for me, a bit of nutella goes nicely too.

Maple syrup with the American style pancakes but defo NOT with English style (which are in reality crepes I guess).

In our house it's lemon, sugar and nothing else.

1/4 of an inch? That is way too thick. A millimeter or two at most for me. Lots of light, thin, crispy at the edge pancakes that way.
