Three blokes in a pub. One says 'We called our boy Andrew because he was born St Andrew's Day.

The next one says, 'What a coincidence! My boy George was born on St George's Day!'

'That's amazing!' exclaimed the third. 'You wait till I tell our Pancake about this!'

Sod the measurements, do it by eye...

Small pile of flour
3 eggs, plus one egg yolk
Some milk
Pinch of caster sugar
Some melted butter (some for the batter, some for frying)

Whisk all ingredients until a smooth batter, adding more milk if the batter is too thick. Melt some butter in a frying pan, and pour the batter into a hot frying pan to a depth of 1/4". Cook, toss, cook serve.

Let's get it right, there is no such thing as pancake day, it's Shrove Tuesday!

definatly Pancake day (or jif lemon day) in my house. who's Shrove and why does he/she deserve a day)?

maple syrup for me, a bit of nutella goes nicely too.

Lemon and some vanilla ice cream...job done and then off to Brentford.

1/4 of an inch? That is way too thick. A millimeter or two at most for me. Lots of light, thin, crispy at the edge pancakes that way.
