I mentioned when all this happened that a lawyer whom I know who specialises in football insolvency was desperate to find out who was looking to buy the club. I now have it on good authority that he is working on behalf of a consortium who are “very” interested. Putting 2+2 together Warnock’s departure could also signify the deal to purchase the club.
Regrettably he is too professional to tell me more but I get the feeling we are not too long from being out of this mess.

Well I'm not sure how accurate your source is, but if proves to be correct then I'd happily see Warnock leave if it meant some financial stability (and dare I say the return of Coppell.)
A question though, why would the consortium wait for Warnock to leave before making a bid?

Jackson,
I'd imagine they'd wait for Warnock to leave before bidding because they might not want him as Manager, and as he's under contract and earns over £500,000 a season and has another 1.5 / 2 years (is that correct?!) if they came in and sacked him then they'd possibly have to pay him compensation (tribunal for wrongful dismissal maybe) and pay him off up until the end of his contract.
Just my thoughts.

How about they have told Warnock, he is not in their plans.

Hopefully this 'new consortium' will be a tad better than the motley shower who have ruined Pompey. It looks like Warnock is out of here whatever happens, sadly.
I really feel Coppell's best days are behind him (much as I hugely respect him) and that to re-employ him would be a mistake: a bit like if the Tories suddenly decided to have Thatcher back....
