FOUR stations though - gotta give 'em that.

Well it is in London, where your probably never more than a mile or so from a couple of stations. The design isnt too bad, but it wouldnt get permission. If they want to sort a stadium out, they would be better off re-developing Selhurst. No idea who they would ground-share with whilst its happening though.

4 or 5 years ago we'd have been delighted with a ground similar to Selhurst and we would have had more than 12000 going there.

Would we? Yes when we won the old Division 3 under Adams, yes the next season under Taylor when we won the division again. Championship relegation season probably would have been around 10-12,000 ish, and back in League 1 we would have been well under 10,000, until Gus took over and we started doing well again.

Whatever anyone says, Palace are very, very similar to us. That's why it's a good rivalry. We're just in a different place to them at the moment, same as they have been to us the last 20 years. They'll be back.

They'll be back.

Its going to cost a huge amount of money , do you honestly think that CPFC2010 will be putting their hand in their own pockets and pull out serious wonga ?

Did you honestly think someone was going to pop up and buy us a £100 million stadium?

Exactly, they have a 26,000 seater stadium and can't even fill half of that. Why on earth would the council approve a 40,000 seat monster like that.
altho, same question was posed at us when we were attracting less than 7,000 to Withdean.

Now how wrong were they

Surely "significant regeneration of the area surrounding" would involve high explosives and a scorched earth policy? Some barren, charred, post-apocalypic landscape seems about right!

Well, in that regard; they tried that themselves. So this Summer maybe we could give them some assistance.

To be honest, I've read about this already on their forums, many fans are doubtful given that most residents in the area hate Selhurst already (don't blame them) a new stadium would have to be done on the same plot which would mean Palace would need to relocate, I wonder how'd they react to that. If they do, good luck to them. Detest the club, but they've got every right to be a club, and if they wish to do this, so be it.

The thing is though that it was always a bit of a myth that we "didn't fill Withdean", a lot of the time it was the lack of people in the away end that meant the ground wasn't fuller (and you can't really blame them given the view from the Worthing End). I suspect that the percentage of unsold seats for the home end was quite low (and yes I am deliberately ignoring Noddy Cup matches - nobody sells out those).

40k is probably a bit ambitious for Palace though, I suspect they really need a modern ground with about the same capacity as what they have already.

No I don't and I think probably someone else will end up paying for it @ 1p in the pound.
I would think twice if I was a contractor being offered work by them.

They have already made it clear that they are looking at other means to pay for the stadium. which is another reason why it wont happen.

But they do have to make their minds up soon I believe.
I understand the main stand is under some threat due to H&S reason's, so surely the decision do up Sellhurst or move must be made soon

So...because lightning struck once and a miracle happened...it's going to happen twice? Sorry, don't follow your logic there.

couldn't see a dead line but the best palace can hope for is selhurst park to be overhauled.

Maybe it will happen - will be a long, long fight against nimbyism to get it at that location though.

Of course we won a similar battle, but at the same time we didn't have our own ground. The obvious point for the objectors is 'but why can't they stay at Selhurst?'

I used to live in Sydenham and the neighbours definitely ain't gonna like it - crystal palace park? no chance!!!

I love the "significant regeneration of the area surrounding the stadium" with an arrow pointing at a small car park.

But it will be fireproofed, ready for the next round of riots.

Wherever the 40,000 fans come from, under no circumstances would they be "plastic". They'd all be die hard Palace fans who just have been away for many years, or something...

what, just like you keep saying your 15/16 thousand extra fans this year are diehards who have been away ? cant have it both ways...unless you are a weed fan it seems

Haven't we had years of that lot telling us how great their support is and we're nothing compared to them? 4 or 5 years ago we'd have been delighted with a ground similar to Selhurst and we would have had more than 12000 going there. Using Selhurst as an excuse for poor attendance is just that-a poor excuse. What would they have done after 12 years at Withdean? I hope they're stuck there for decades, see their fan base dwindle and struggle indefinitely. After all the years of abuse from those tossers, it is the least I can hope for.

you carry on hoping cupcake....results tomorrow could see you slide even further from playoffs,..its the least i can hope for

The KC Stadium is owned by the city council as they provided the funding (part of the windfall from selling off their share in KCOM (Kingston Communications)). It also hosts Hull FC the rugby league team. It was built to allow expansion to 32,000. The plans for the new stadium at Crystal Palace are somewhat misleading as I was led to believe this will be sold to allow MK Dons to relocate back to London whilst Palace will use the adjacent athletics track to play their home games.

you really are a fool,.deluded doesn't even come close
