The simple answer would have been do as Southampton and Portsmouth did and distribute the match tickets on the train from East Croydon so all their fans had to travel via train or not have a ticket and then escort them back to the station and if needs be keep our fans in for 10 mins before opening the exit doors.

I am confused. Surely ONLY poor people use buses ?

One would imagine its a SPECIAL bus, laid on only for those sorts whose expensive season tickets are deserving of it.

Thanks for that idea !

I take it the bars in the away end will not be open after the game for them lot?

It is planned that the away end bar will remain open after the end of the match.

The away end outside concourse will be sectioned off after the end of the match, hence the reason why having to walk clockwise around the stadium.

And as I have stated earlier, you don't want to go the long way round?(it really does not take that much longer)
Use the sliproad, just head down to the away team coach and turn left up the little hill, get to village way and hit the P.&R. or Coach park.

Only tinpot teams hold their on fans back.

No, no that WOULDN'T be the simple answer, would it? How is that in any way simple? How do the Palace fans living in East Sussex, for example, get to the game (before you say it, there are plenty, I was on a Wivelsfield- Lewes train recently after they'd played at home and there were loads on there).

Much as we all want to despise them on the pitch, ultimately, most of their fans are no different to most of ours: they just want to watch the game, win, drink a beer or two and sing a bit. I don't want them treated like animals any more than I wish to be when I go to their filthy shed of a ground. That sort of treatment only winds people up and is likely to make those inclined towards aggression act up even more.

As for part two of your cunning plan: can you seriously envisage the response if the police told 26,000 Albion fans they had to wait in their own stadium for 10 minutes to let away fans out?

I HATE all that "bubble" crap that some clubs enforce at high profile games. I hope to god we never stoop to treating people like that, whichever team they support.

It has been suggested that a 12 coach train is going to be at Falmer or in Brighton waiting for them to take them to East Croydon not sure how many that would hold. I think it was done for Millwall

Suggested by who...and as has been pointed out THEY AREN'T ALL COMING BY TRAIN

If that is where the tickets were issued, as per Southampton and Portsmouth on coaches, they would or not get a ticket. As regards Falmer station why can they not pull 6 of the coaches onto the platform then shut those doors and pull forward and fill up the rest of the train.
