Palace have over achieved and Brighton have disappointed why?

But mainly the same old bitter bo llocks .

Its not bitter or bollocks. Its not about the palace's, Wigan's or Wimbledon's of this world. All of those clubs can be rightly proud of how they have punched above their weight. Its about Brighton and how we can be rightly annoyed at how we never fulfil our potential, never mind punching above our weight. The only bit that is directed at you lt is your one eyed view of your support when forgetting you had to beg people to watch with 2 for 1 deals in the championship and well, drums are poxy and unlike clackers, you take them yourselves.

Brighton has got a bigger and better fan base than Palarse.
Zaha was the difference between the two sides in the playoff game last season, they scored and we didn't.
OG has got to be given time in to fine tuning Brighton in the way of scoring goals especially from the strikers.
Obviously the FFP will take effect, and OG will be given funds to improve the team.

Believe :albion2:

Its not just about this season or last season. My point of the Albion's constant under achievement goes for the last 100 years. This is not the first time that Brighton have have been in the top 10 /11 best supported clubs in the country despite playing lower league football. When will Brighton deliver a team to match that support, never mind exceed that support? Whwn will Brighton win a Cup? Believe? I will believe it when I see it.

After 100 years of under achievement, a failure to fulfil its potential and in a way, a large fan base that seems to accept that, then I remain to be convinced that BHA really will build a side that will match its top 10 best supported sides in the country. Look at the ground capacity. 30,000 and they get that in the Championship, and is there forward thinking in the fan base or board to say, hang on, we get 30000 for Championship games, what would we get for Arsenal? Bloom has done a superb job obviously but all the time we set our ambitions too low then we will under achieve and I dont see much evidence in the fans or club that we want to make this club a real competitor in English football. Everyone seems happy enough to have a second tier team but a top ten premier league support and that's Brighto, always had superb support despite the state of the club on the field.

Despite the fact you post absolute bullicks 99% of the time, I'll agree with you that Brighton have never lived up to their potential given how few clubs you have around you to compete with for support.

I'd argue that it's almost the same with CPFC and Croydon but given that there's an array of top, established PL clubs just a few miles up the road, it's never going to be easy for us.

Yet no other Premier league clubs anywhere near Brighton, They only got a large following once they got the Amex and a rare championship couple of seasons, When I can be bothered I will post photo's of 3 Brighton fans Have got on my phone with Premier league jackets,Liverpool and Arsenal, one Chelsea back packs and wearing BHA hats, one fan on the train on way to Vicarage road with a Brighton hat,Man U gloves and a Ryan Giggs autobiography in hand  :ffsparr:

Palace took decisive action on the manager (even if I think it was mutual agreement?), went for a sensible proven choice, haven't spent ludicrous money - and its all paying off for them. It shouldn't go unnoticed either that their fans kick up one hell of a racket and get behind the team no matter what - they don't see themselves as entitled - just happy to be there, and don't moan at every off par performance or a couple of poor results (Jordan was on Talksport before they played Chelsea and said he'd actually like the fans to have higher expectations). The outcome - a second season in the premiership with the financial cushion that comes with it.

Tony Clueless.

They have about 35% possession in their games, they get lots of men behind the ball, break with pace and work hard on set pieces. It's worked for them, but unless Pulis has a shed load of money in the summer, everyone will work them out for next season.

It probably didn't take much to galvanise the dressing room after the start they had. Great job he's done, a brilliant potential survival story, but if we thought our football was boring, crikey, I can't believe anyone saying they'd like Clueless here.

His record isn't as glorious as people think either. His gross spending at Stoke was huge. He outspent Liverpool, and didn't bring through any youngsters in his entire time at Stoke, their outgoing sales were appalling, he simply didn't improve any footballers.

Mark Huges has come in, Stoke are playing better football, and look like achieving a higher position than Pulis ever managed.

He's doing a fantastic rescue job for them, but I really believe TB has a vision for us as a footballing purist club and a reputation that will go before us. You don't get that appointing baseball cap wearing dinosaurs.

These ' dinosaurs ' really have to be got rid of.....old school... hoof it long.... muck and bullets...the game has moved on...basic tactics....clueless. What our game needs is fresh thinking. Brighter, more inventive foreign coaches and managers. They are the future, not these boring old hacks who have been around for ever. The game is different now. These guys are from the dark ages. The game has left them behind. It is pure luck that the clubs they are managing are surviving in the PL. Whatever possesses club chairmen to employ them. Its madness. They are dragging the game into disrepute. Pulis, Allardyce, Bruce....yuk...get rid....hopeless...they will be found out.........
WHEN?

You are jealous of our support pure and simple .

You will have the same elements , you couldn't sell out the away end at withdean but took (10k?) To old Trafford , all clubs have hangers on . You are no different . History shows this .

Your ahead football wise as you have been most of my life but the sniping over our crowds are pure envy .

You and your palace chums online didn't think we would get more than 12 k , then you laughed how after season 1 we would lose a large percent of our support . Same relentless predictions ever since . Now it's not happening you bang on about this plastic argument .

All we have on you is crowds / infrastructure so your best bet is sticking to the football bud .

Otherwise you just make yourself look jealous which ain't a good quality .

LE, this self invented fantasy that Brighton were not well supported before the Amex to make yourselves feel better is odd. You should know as a palace fan that in the 70s Brighton were also playing lower league football but were again the 10th/11th best supported club in the country. You should know that because in those days palace also could get regularly 25000/30000 for 3rd and 2nd division football. As for a computer generated photo, well you just hang onto that crumb of comfort but if you want such stupid evidence in reverse, then someone might point to all the United hats and shirts in that famous Cantonna picture. This fantasy you peddle is as funny as the one with me being a "Chelsea" fan because I went to a Chelsea game with work. It will be news to the Fulham, Celtic and Spurs fans who also went to now be told that they according to palace fans, are now Chelsea fans. As I have said before LE, the under achievement on the pitch compared to the size of the Albion's support is what this is about, not the fact that palace these days need top flight football for anyone to watch them.

WHEN?

Bruce?

Ask West Ham fans what they think of their football style dished up by Allardyce - they boo wins!

Hughes has taken over Stoke and is looking like achieving their highest PL finish playing decent football, and he hasn't had £80m to spend.

Stoke couldn't wait to get rid of Pulis, and despite keeping them safe there is a growing dissatisfaction amount hammers fans too.

So yes, despite your sarcastic tone, you're actually right!

Bruce though, he's got Hull playing decent football, you've included him on a miss guided reputation.

I'd agree its harder for Palace. Brighton are lucky, it has a natural area to draw support and to help the support levels on the coast it has a natural regional / County identity. Palace dont have that and of course places like Croydon and Bromley population wise only really got big after 1945 and its still a place people move to from other areas of London, but its still close enough to London clubs. As such it struggles with identity and loyalty in its fan base. Palace however as a club always show ambition and try to punch above its weight. Brighton never do, and never have. Maybe Bloom will but after 100 years of pretty much failure on the pitch, I will believe it when I see it. I point o a ground large enough for Championship football but not for Premier League football. Its so Brighton that, not even a thought to what cowds they will pull in when playing top flight clubs. Why? The Albion fans and management never seem to look at things that way.

The ambition to sign a quality manager who knows the division has been the difference. All credit to them they have become a side who are hard to beat.

They may not be the most entertaining side to watch but Premiership football for a second season is great reward for Tony Pullis and his squad.

I still think having your debts written off twice does help secure the future for them.

TBF having a sugar daddy pumping upwards of £120 million in intrest free loans into a club helps a bit as well!!
