I'm not sure where the "funding the academy from his salary" myth came from.

The Amex, and the training ground at Lancing, was funded by interest free, unsecured, loans. Some of that loan was recently repaid.

Yes, about 35m was repaid in 22/23.

The asset is Brighton and Hove Albion holdings Ltd. This company owns subsidiaries: BHA FC Ltd, BHAFC Women's Ltd, The Comunity Stadium Ltd and BHA Foundation Ltd.

we paid him back a fair chunk last year. It is a loan but in reality he's in no rush to claim it back and wants to pass the club on to his kids at some point

The board decided to pay back about 10% to Bloom last year, he didn't ask for it, and was happy to leave it in the club apparently. It is a loan, but without interest, and will be repaid as and when the club has a surplus.

It is an non-interest loan, with no fixed repayment term, as far as I'm aware. The assets are the club, with it's stadium, the training ground, housing development and other land.

I guess the gift part is that he's not charging interest. That has saved the club a huge amount.

At the end of the day he owns the club, and if it's worth more/less, it's his asset that's worth more/less. Let's say the club owed him a) £300m or b) £500m. If he were to sell it for say £400 million, then in case a) his loan would be paid off and he'd get £100m extra for himself and in case b) his loan wouldn't get paid off and he'd have to write off £100m. Either way, it's sold for the same amount, and the club then owes the new owners £400m.

Eze's release clause is £68m with the majority of that due up front. I'd be surprised if he was going anywhere. Olise's fee was an absolute bargain - I think Eze's is about market value.
