I agree with the sentiment (i.e. Vieira would have kept them up too), but I think Parish was right to get rid of Vieira.
The "progressive style" was only ever applied against weaker teams. It was back to Hodgson-ball against the better sides.
He doesn't really have it in him as a coach.
Good enoug to make a difference in his first season, but has never pushed on in his 2nd.
There are many better options out there.
He was a very lucky businessman spotting a gap in the mobile phone business. But from then on ambition over took his financing and led to his fall…mind you he has managed to carve out a decent living since.
I have no Ill feeling on him myself and wish him all the best.

In fairness, "seeing a gap in the market" is a large part of being a successful businessman. Strangely when I was building my business I was an idiot, working weekends, missing family events and key football matches, when I sold it I was "lucky" in some people's eyes.
To be fair, we were ransacked by the ultimate spiv and it almost cost us everything. Can’t really get too upset at them for that.

As mentioned Jordan had bigger ego than cash supply.

You've misremembered that. Neither Forest, nor Fulham were not part of the winless streak. The 12 games started with the New Year and were Spurs, Chelsea, Man U, Newcastle, Man U, Brighton, Brentford, Liverpool, Villa, City, Brighton & Arsenal. All of them except Villa were in the top half when you played them and Villa only weren't because of the awful start under Gerrard. They were one of the form teams of 2023 and ended up qualifying for Europe.
Palace lost seven and drew five of the twelve and only the second half four goal capitulation against Tottenham and the Arsenal game after Vieira's departure were lost by more than a single goal. Had these results been dotted throughout the season, they wouldn't have been much outside of expectations for a mid table side. It was the fixture list that did for Vieira. That and Parish being too panicked to realise that his mid-table budget had produced a mid table side that couldn't buy a win against the top half, but would do well enough against the bottom half to survive comfortably. Hodgson came in and played eight games against bottom half sides winning five of them. Seems a remarkable upturn until you consider that, in the first half of the season, Vieira played nine against the bottom half and won five. Hodgson played two games against top half sides and didn't win either. Vieira won Palace's only victory against a team that finished in the top half, beating Gerrard's Villa in August, back when they looked relegation fodder.
It seems remarkable that Arsenal should be labelled bottlers by some in the media this year, having backed a manager's project throughout the last few hard years and been rewarded with a leap into the Champions League spots. Meanwhile Palace's board chucked it in at the first sign of rough water and nobody bar friend of the sacked manager, Martin Keown seems to have noticed.
By the way, Graham Potter had a nine game winless streak with us in 2019/20, and another one in 2020/21. He followed these with a club record thirteen game winless run in 2021/22. His Chelsea side's 1-0 win against Palace was the only thing that stopped him having another nine game winless streak this season. Parish would have him out of the door quicker than you could say (with due incredulity) 'Third highest paid director in the Premier League!!!'.
Honestly take it from me, Palace were playing awfully before Viera went, not so much the losing but the manner of the losing, no shots in 4 games with Eze, Olisa and Zaha in the team.
Losing is one thing but the players looked lost in the set up, it was not going to get better.
Did not Palace go on a prolonged not winning streak with Pardew, yet Parish left it a year before moving.

With the right players Roy is a good manager as his record shows, players seem to like him and that makes a great difference.
