I'm not criticising the Albion for a minute, it makes total commercial sense to launch new kits, and anyone who complains about being ripped off is talking rubbish, just don't buy if you think that.
It's a very basic marketing trick- pretend there's a potential shortage and people will flock to buy it (look at what happened when Heinz let it "slip" that salad cream was doomed, or what unwittingly goes on every time people think there might be a petrol shortage.
Eventually the Albion will sigh and "reluctantly" announce that the white kit will in fact be released in greater numbers than originally planned "due to overwhelming demand".
Good luck to them, it's all money in the bank in the end.
