Unbelievable! (not really)

Bloody typical El-Abd.

Albion will check on the condition of Marcos Painter today after he was injured by a team-mate.

Painter was the accidental victim of a trademark Adam El-Abd tackle on an opponent during the first half against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The on-loan Swansea left-back carried on playing but was handicapped in the second half.

Manager Gus Poyet said: “I think he is all right. Adam didn’t follow the rules we have not to tackle a team-mate!

“He hit him in the whole of the left leg, the hip, then ankle, the knee, everything. He just went through him, it was unbeliev-able.”

I'm not surprised if Painter was fouled.

El-Abd took whatever out what ever was in his way, Painter was just unfortunate. His face and reaction after were superb though, especially El-Abd telling Poyet to have a word with Painter because he was moaning.

Saw the tackle it was right in front of me El Abd tends to jump into he's tackles when somtimes he would do better to stand off as once he has commited himself and he doesn'tn get the ball the attacker is past him and he's not got the pace to recover.
But he did play well and was our best defender.

I remember Carpenter doing one in the rain (I think against Luton) were he slid in from about 10 yards away, took out two people and won the ball

Yeah it was indeed against Luton in a Withdean mudbath
