He was 8yrs younger and had scored a hatful of goals so the comparison doesn't really match up, try another

No parameters were set. I'm using the exact same example.

Besides, McCourt hasn't played a game for us (or even signed) and people are writing him off? ****ing unbelievable.

Genuine question: Was he not released by Barnsley as he was shit?

The Barnsley fan on another McCourt thread suggested he simply was not consistent enough for Barnsley. I guess they are building a side to compete for the L1 title and need regular contributions rather than occasional brilliance. 2 goals last season and maybe half a dozen moments of genius, will he contribute to two relegations in a row?

BTW I'm very negative after today's mess. :(

McCourt is a quality player who has the dribbling ability of a world class player. He has undeniable talent no doubt, it's more a question of how fit he will be. I remember the Albion going for a player who had the passing and crossing ability of David beckham. The only problem with him was his fitness, we signed him on a free and he looked top class for us straight away. Darren Currie

I have no idea how good he is but I'd have to query why nobody else is in for him if he is as good as some of you are suggesting.

I think you are stretching it a big bit there

Ah, so you've seen him play?
31 goals in 13 years would suggest he isn't all that in front of goal...looking at his history of clubs also tells you how good he was or is,he's 31 this year and is looking for a mug of a club to give him a last reasonable pay day.

Step forward BHA FC

Wouldn't mind him here at all. Got to be a better bet than Bruno or that fat fella in midfield.

He's a midfielder, what do you expect?

I'm hoping this isn't true. Please don't be. It wouldn't surprise me though as the club appear to be selling off all our stars and replacing them with much inferior players to meet FFP On top of this we have a manager who appears to be out of his depth. It's very worrying.
Two weeks to turn it around but i'm afraid i think the club have massively ****ed up. Rushed signings and loans is what we will see.

Nope, Celtic fans loved him when he could play. They were always screaming for him in the champions league to come on. He's a game changer, a very unfit one though.

Anyone is better than Bruno and Kemy that's not really the answer mate. We don't want to fill gaps for the sake of it. We can do better than this and we must.

I agree that we shouldn't sign people for the sake of it, but you are aware that he's been on trial for a good week or more, so Sami has had opportunities to see if he's any good and must be suitably impressed in order for him to move.
Also, as I said earlier in this thread - who the hell is here of the supporters to judge a player who very few have seen more than one or two games to say if he's good enough?

Seriously, I'm sure people are trying to find pick holes to have a dig at the club.
