So, a MP breaks the rules, gets found guilty by the cross party committee and suspends him.

The ducking tories then decide to change the rules so he gets away with it and will have their own committee made up of their own to judge these things

This is beyond farce now. This is corruption and self interest in the extreme.

Welcome to broken Britain...

Now now. Let's not talk this great country down.

Under Corbyn labour, bank rolled by their union masters, there would only be one loser - Great Britain.

And it is great and we should not allow distractions to stop us from making it great, er, again.

Come on. How does anyone expect a busy and dedicated MP to survive on his parliamentary salary alone?

And after all, he has not been found guilty of breaking any rules, as far as his fellow MPs are concerned.

Not forgetting all the expenses they claim. We are being robbed blind, whilst hospitals are at breaking point.

It's nothing to do with him being a politician and everything to do with this being part of this crop of Conservative politicians. This episode is absolutely disgusting.

The great thing is there’s only been about 15 episodes like this in the last few years.

Legitimate and fully vetted expenses. Let me remind you about John Stonehouse.

Sorry, I can't keep this up for long. I start to feel dirty.

Every week that goes by something very wrong or bad or disgusting happens and it has been like this for a very long time a list of corruption, backhanders, sleaze and pure nastiness and incompetence.
I don't have 2 hours to post the list but the last 2 alone is a total waste of £37 billion on test and trace and now this crock of shit.
It's bad enough now but the last 11 years or so of Conservative rule and this one under Johnson is going to ruin this country beyond repair in my lifetime.@%1;

If the hospitals are at breaking point, the NHS couldn't afford to start wasting millions paying for vapes for smokers.

Boris knows well full this is tomorrows chip paper. Give it a few days, ride it out and it'll all be forgotten about soon enough, as everyone moves on to the next shitstorm.

He's built an entire career on it.

Don't worry, He has now defended his Lobbying and wouldn't hesitate to do the same again.

Ironically, my first thought was that Boris is behaving more like Blair as each day passes.

It’s genuinely worrying that it’s only taken a few short years, a handful of corrupt toffs and some three word slogans to tear our democratic system asunder.
This is a stark warning to us all that democracy is fragile and needs guarding and constant protection.
And they snuck in on the back of what was claimed to be the most democratic vote of all, the Brexit referendum.

A tax reduction just before the election and everything will be forgotten, even covid and the unnecessary death of thousands and billions wasted.

Worked well enough for Trump until the last election.

Mr Johnson knows full well that he has enough support from people of dubious wit (who have been told that they are thick-as-shit for voting for him) and would still support him, even if he murdered the Queen live on GMTV

Amazing that no one gives a shit and they can do what they want. At what point will people care?

Having read the report this morning and watched this afternoon unfold, I'm really really struggling to see what the Tories gain from this.

He didn't do that much wrong in the big scheme of things.

You can liken it to a "friendly" MP noticing that your roof is actually on the verge of collapse. What they are not then allowed to do, is offer the services of their firm to fix it and at the same time offer you a deal on a new kitchen.

He clearly broke the rules from my limited interpretation. Gets the parliamentary equivalent of a very hard slap on the wrist, no fine, no police involvement and everyone will forget about in a few months.

But no.

You can only come to the conclusion that the current Government are using the opportunity to limit the powers of Parliament. Effectively changing our unwritten constitution by stealth. It's either purely ideological (which is interesting because Boris doesn't have one), they have something else up their sleeve possibly worrying about the fall out of the Covid inquiry, or it's just a nasty act of revenge over Brexit.

It's an odd strategy because at some point, the Conservatives will lose power as all parties do. Behaivour like this will help to ensure they will be out of power for a very long time.

No one (apart from Patterson) in the Conservative Party cares whether nitrates extracted from celery are "natural" or not. Personally, I'm gutted that my favourite sausages have been dragged into this. They are cracking.

Far too many on Facebook rather than watching the news or political programmes.
People don't seem to have a clue or care anymore.
I still meet many people who like Johnson because he is 'funny' but have absolutely no idea about his political and personal life.
