If Ashley Cole can get fit in time for it then I'm sure Hargreaves could (I emphasise the word could there).

I would love him to go to the World Cup as I think he is an awesome player when on form/fit.

I don't think it's realistic though as he's bound to suffer numerous setbacks as he goes through his comeback

I'd be more than happy to see one of the most committed players on the pitch in our last crushing exit at the hands of Portugal make his way to South Africa if he can prove that he's capable in the mean time. Would be a welcome return for a player who doesn't play like everyone off and certainly gives us something a bit different.

My concern would be whether Ferguson gives him the games to prove his skills have returned, otherwise he's not likely to get a look in for England if he makes no impact for his club

Cole has been fit and on form upto recent injury, Hargreaves has been out for 18mths. i dont see him recoving match fitness and producing enough form to get a look in.

who would he replace? go as left back? with Barry, Carrick and Milner all fit i see no space for Hargreaves.

Cole has less than a month to get fit. Hargreaves could have 3 months. I take your point though it has been a long time out.

If fit he is miles better than what we have, 3 months of games and who knows. Come last few games of the season and he is in ahead of Carrick at Man Utd and playing well who would you rather

Best holding midfielder in the country.

Better right back than Brown, etc.

You'd have to be a retard, not to take a fit Hargreaves.

Exactly - we'd all like him to play if he's fit and can prove he's as good as 4 yrs ago - our best player if memory serves me right - he's got an outside chance but has been out for so long.

Good point there mate - I forgot he's played RB too - and yes he is better than Brown - get him fit and on that plane - great squad player

Is there another England player in history who has had such a massive sea change in opinion regarding their worth to the team?

Hargreaves was the worst thing to ever happen to the England team roughly 5 years ago according to some.
