Maybe you're not on the same 'line' as them, nudge nudge.

You can't tell who is miserable tho, as they just sit quietly.

The happy people talk loudly, laugh and smile.

There is nothing to smile about on the 0510 Portsmouth to Waterloo train I can assure you.

Really really get my goat!

Today is not going to be a good day.

Excuse me, you're in my seat (said with reservation in hand).

Commuting is a ritual. I am happy to talk for a few minutes, usually from Shoreham to Hove, then it's reading til Haywards Heath and sleep til London Bridge - has nothing to do with being happy or not - I'm on auto-pilot. When you see the same people twice a day, every day, there's not much left to chat about.

I was of a joyful disposition this morning as commuted from my home to work. I left the house walked the twenty yards to my tractor, my young border collie galavanting around, and we started the arduous task of feeding the animals. Its blissful as the sun begins to burn through the low cloud, a bit chilly but nice and dry. I apologize to any of heavily pregnant ewes if they do not feel the same level of invigoration on such a wonderful morn.

Sod all this train malarkey.
