well thats what i believe anyway(except attack) and i'll point out why

Goalkeepers:

Ben Roberts
Michel Kuipers

the 2 best keepers in the division? i wouldnt argue with that!

Defenders

Paul Watson(rb)
Kerry Mayo(lb/cb)
Adam Hinshelwood(cb/rb)
Robbie Pethick(cb/rb)
Nathan Jones(lb/ml)
Danny Cullip(cb)
Dean Blackwell(cb)
Adam Virgo(cb)
Guy Butters(cb)
Nicky Bridle
Adam El-Abd

for a start, we have 2 top quality centre backs(cullip and blackwell) despite blackwell's injury we still have 2 great people able to fill his slot, Pethick and Hinshelwood, and Mayo can also, not forgetting Adam Virgo who was impressive last time in division 2 and Butters, who has a point to prove

Midfield

Dan Harding
Simon Rodger
Dean Hammond
Richard Carpenter
Charlie Oatway
John Piercy
Dan Beck
Geoff Pitcher
Shaun Wilkinson
Dan Marney
Gary Hart

we have pure class in Rodger and Carpenter, Jones is good on the wing, as is Hart.Oatway has had his critics but he is really up for a fight for his place, Piercy could finally show us the quality we expect from him. Dan Harding is looking very promising. Dean Hammond's brief appearances last season impressed many and Marney and Wilkinson are both exciting prospects. Pitcher, if given a chance, could be a creative addition to the side.

see, we got a good squad, well except for up front unless we sign Knight permanently, McPhee grabs a few against Bristol Rovers and gets the eye for goal, and Wilson-Denis proves himself

here's hoping

watson wasn't as bad yesterday as he can be, thank god.

hopefully he wont play as bad as last season!

I thought Watson was alright yesterday. Even saw him make a tackle in the first half (although it was down the other end of the pitch and the sun was in my eyes).

Bigc is talking a lot of sense here. As long as we can hold onto Knight I think we'll be just fine, and my prediction of 46 league wins will be a formality. Henderson, IMHO, wouldn't be such a loss.

I've said it on the Watson poll and I'll repeat it here. (don't worry I'm not turning into Reeves)

Watto had a good game against Leicester and against Oldham.

Reeves Here!!

Oy did you know that was never a penalty. You had no chances! we have no players! It was Hot! You didn't sing! I'll post this again in a couple of mins just in case you (very) lucky fans don't understand!!

  :censored:

I should hit 1,000 posts next week. A record for one subject!:censored:

Most fans from other clubs think we won't do too well as we lost Zamora. I think we'll do well, even without him. If we can sign Knight, then even more the better!

Remember, when we went up last time, we were on fire. We have brought in some better players, have a better manager, and don't have high expectations as with last year. I personally think we have been underestimated, and can't wait until next Monday. If we win, we'll def go up. If we loose, then I am afraid it's mid table for us!!!

thats true.

the point of this post was simply to, in theory, pump up the optimism round there. we've got more options than we think!(in certain areas anyway)

And a mighty fine job you've done too. I was thinking pretty much the same thoughts yesterday during the game. The only position I think possibly needs strenghening now is left midfield/wing.

As BB says, most people wrote us off as soon as Bobby went. They do so at their peril. That can only work in our favour, although I think they might be onto us once we've notched up our tenth straight win.

Left midfield/wing?

I thought Jones did well there.

Kanchelskis?

Shall I bring MC on?

I agree with bigc and Safeway re:eek:ptimism.

I noticed that SC was "managing our expectaions" yesterday with his comments. (Like any good manager would!)

He did do well yesterday, and I really hope he keeps doing well because I've got a lot of time for Jonah. Just think he's too inconsistent.

Sorry for not replying to your PM, btw. Three times I tried replying and three times my bastard PC crashed whilst writing. Grrr. Which is strange, because I've been able to write other PMs today with no problems. I basically said that if you sent the pictures to guybutters@hotmail.com then I could get them up tonight. The csma address is my work one so won't be able to do them until tomorrow.

*and breathe*

young players seem to be doing well, just proves they needed a decent manager to improve under.

we have an excellent(in theory) squad, all the young prospects showing promise and the senior pro's fighting for their places(oatway for example)

I only left out David Lee, because he's the only player i think is totally useless. I think Butters could have his uses(what with his height) and would add physical presence at the back
